In November 2019, UNICEF and China International Center for Economic and Technology Exchange (CICETE) signed a South-South Cooperation Assistance Fund (SSCAF) Implementation Agreement, which also served as the initiation of the SSCAF-Maternal, Newborn, Child Health (MNCH) Projects in eight African Countries (Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia, Kenya, Niger, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Sudan and Zimbabwe). Apart from improving access to health facilities and essential medicines for newborns and pregnant women, the project also focused on sharing best practices of MNCH improvement in China, through face-to-face and online trainings, and on-site technical support.
To facilitate online trainings delivered for project countries, an online learning platform (www.brhth.com) was jointly developed by International Health Exchange and Cooperation Center (IHECC) of National Health Commission and UNICEF China.
