CHAI, in partnership with its India affiliate William J Clinton Foundation (WJCF), works in close partnership with and under the guidance of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) at the Central and States' levels on an array of high priority initiatives aimed at improving health outcomes. Currently, CHAI works across projects to expand access to quality care and treatment for HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis-C (HCV), tuberculosis, cancer, and immunization.
India has the highest burden of Tuberculosis (TB) in the world, accounting for more than 27% of the global TB incidence. Of the 2.8 million annual estimated incidence, more than half access diagnosis and care in the private sector, where there are significant gaps across the care cascade because of diagnostic delays, irrational and non-standardized regimens and catastrophic health expenditure to patients.
The TB Free Chennai Initiative (TFCI) is an ambitious program under the Zero TB Initiative, which seeks to eliminate TB at a more aggressive pace than set by the National Strategic Plan (2017-25). The Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) heads the consortium of partners under TFCI and CHAI gives technical and strategic support to GCC. The main focus of TFCI is to detect people affected by TB in Chennai who do not seek care or are misdiagnosed. Innovative solutions involving active case finding in the community through digital x-ray machine-mounted mobile diagnostic units (MDUs) have been introduced to this end. In addition, GCC is keen on testing various community-level ACF interventions that can complement and improve case finding through the MDUs.
CHAI is seeking a highly qualified and motivated individual with strong analytical skills (both quantitative and qualitative) and an exemplary record of leadership and management. - Support development of M&E plan and conduct regular spot-checks/back-checks to monitor the field work
- Support development of training materials for the field staff and Conduct training for the data collection staffs
- Monitor field work to ensure adherence to field plan and study protocols
- Coordinate with research agency to ensure daily reporting of field targets and summarize progress through daily field reports
- Assist in designing monitoring dashboards from data collected
- Monitor data capturing and coordinate with field staff to ensure streamlined data capture
- Other responsibilities as needed
- Bachelor's degree with at least 18 months of relevant work experience or Master’s degree in Economics, Business Administration, Public Health, Public Policy, Public Administration, Social Work, Nursing and similar specializations
- Exceptional analytical (qualitative and quantitative) and communication (written and verbal) skills. Proficiency in English and Tamil required
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and other reporting tools
- Ability to independently handle workstreams and meet deliverables in a fast paced environment
- Strong operational understanding, including potential impact of decisions on various internal/external stakeholders
- Ability to anlayze data captured and provide summary of findings and recommendations to influence operations team
- Entrepreneurial mindset, including ability to work independently, self-motivate, and propose and implement new initiatives
- Ability to think strategically, handle ambiguity, and problem solve in a fast-paced, limited-structure, multicultural environment
- Preference would be given to candidates with strong experience in public health and social work programs, with focus on field research experience
