Organizational Setting
The Director General's Office (DGO) provides leadership and coordination for all IAEA activities at the executive level for meeting Member States' needs, and achieving a one-house approach and a results-based management.The Office for Public Information and Communication provides objective, accurate and timely information about the IAEA and nuclear developments that fosters public understanding of the IAEA's global roles. It also provides advice to the Director General on relations with the media and organizes press briefings. The Office coordinates the communication activities for the rest of the house and assists in the media aspects of major IAEA events and conferences.The Web, Digital Media and Public Information Materials Section has corporate responsibility for the editorial management, creation and development of information products with a particular focus on the web, digital media, internal communications and cross-departmental promotional material.
Main Purpose
The Associate Drupal Developer internally named as Associate Web Developer develops and maintains functional and stable web applications to meet the IAEAs needs. He/she maintains the content management system of the web site in good working order.
Role
The Associate Web Developer (1) drafts technical specifications for web development based on stakeholder interviews and needs assessment, (2) develops and tests software modules for the web content management system of the IAEA web site and (3) provides comprehensive documentation of the iaea.org web site codebase. He/she fixes bugs to ensure that the web site remains in good working order, patches modules and acts on software vulnerability advisories related to the underlying content management system and supports the migration of content and pulling of content feeds from external sources.

The IAEA has a unique responsibility to disseminate accurate and objective information on its activities and the results of its work. This post contributes to this goal through the technical development and maintenance of the web site.
- Research and draft technical specifications for web software development.
- Develop and/or customize web software modules to meet the Agency’s needs. Test new functionality and deliver and commit clean code to the codebase, building code and libraries that are reusable for future use.
- Fix any bugs to ensure proper and optimal functioning of the content management system and the web site.
- Patch software modules and act on software vulnerability advisories related to the content management system.
- Provide comprehensive documentation of the iaea.org web site codebase.
- Assist the OPIC team in meeting the needs of content presentation and searchability.
- Support content migration and the pulling of content feeds from external sources.

Qualifications, Experience and Language skills
- A first level university degree in software development or a related field.
- At least two years of experience in web software development using the Drupal framework.
- Excellent oral and written command of English. Knowledge of other official IAEA languages (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish) is an asset.
Remuneration
The IAEA offers an attractive remuneration package including a tax-free annual net base salary starting at US $48805 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance), a variable post adjustment which currently amounts to US $ 24207, dependency benefits, rental subsidy, education grant, relocation and repatriation expenses; 6 weeks' annual vacation, home leave, pension plan and health insurance.
