Purpose of the Position:

The objectives of the Centre, as stated by its mandate, are to provide information and communication technology (ICT) services (including training) on an inter-organizational basis.

Main duties and responsibilities:

The incumbent will work under the direct supervision and guidance of the Head, Digital Workplace Service Unit (OPDM), within the Operations Division, and in close collaboration with the Unified Endpoints team. S/he will be responsible for the following duties and could be requested to do any other tasks of similar level in related fields:

Team leading

  • Coordinate unified endpoints projects, operations and resources to ensure internal and external projects and operations are delivered as per customer expectations
  • Work as a technical lead and deliver successfully various solutions and products related to the unified management of endpoints
  • Support the alignment of service management processes, starting with the service transition process, including incident, change and problem management processes as well as continual service improvement, ensuring on-going operations follow in-place processes, procedures and metrics
  • Recommend tools, techniques, technologies for workstation and mobile device management as part of the Continual Service Improvement process
  • Coordinate all aspects for platform and application deployments such as In-Take documents, processes, communication, pilots, deployments and standard operating procedures
  • Coordinate tasks of staff and onsite/nearshore/offshore consultants and contribute to selection of resources as needed
  • Assist the OPDM Head in the evaluation and selection of new staff and consultants
  • Overlook at team’s profitability and regularly report to OPDM Head

Customers

  • Engage with existing clients to ensure high levels of client satisfaction
    by reviewing the performance of provided services, discussing any new
    need and proposing new solutions
  • Assist in the development of proposals and business cases for unified
    endpoints projects, in collaboration with the OPDM head, BRMs and
    customers
  • Assist in the definition of new endpoint management services or update
    to existing services in order to maintain a modern and exhaustive
    endpoint management service offering aligned to customers’ needs
  • Conduct and deliver technical workshops to customers

Innovation

  • Participate in the architectural design, build, and deployment of unified endpoint management solutions including Microsoft Endpoint Manager Configuration Manager and Intune as well cloud Virtual Desktops
  • Re-design and improve the endpoint management solutions to maximize
    their capabilities and help other UN organizations to take advantage of
    latest features and support digital transformation initiatives

Other

  • Provide other ad hoc support either within your team or in other teams as required – this includes the participation in special projects or support to service delivery for short period of time on a part-time or full time basis upon request from the senior management
  • Carry on-call phone on a rotational basis and ensure on-call rotation
    schedule it up-to-date

Experience and Skills required:

Essential:

  • Five years or more of progressively responsible professional experience in deploying and managing Microsoft Endpoint Manager Configuration Manager and Intune in large organizations
  • Relevant experience in team leadership / management, including remotely dispersed teams
  • Skills in general unified endpoint management systems architecture and deployment methodologies applicable in large environments
  • Experience in producing and documenting solutions to satisfy client requirements
  • Relevant experience in delivering technical workshops, trainings and assessments
  • Sound knowledge of Azure Virtual Desktop or similar desktop virtualization technology
  • Good command of Microsoft Enterprise Infrastructure components such as Active Directory, Domains and Trusts, DNS, DHCP, SQL, Clustering technologies, Active Directory, Azure AD
  • Excellent knowledge of PowerShell, VB and Wise Scripting
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Defender and OneDrive for Business
  • Knowledge of application packaging technologies and solutions
  • Good knowledge of Windows Server and Windows Desktop operating systems
  • Familiarity with LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, firewalls, proxies, SAN
  • Good knowledge of Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL)
  • Experience in producing technical documentation including proposals in response to client requirements

 Desirable:

  • Knowledge of other mobile device management solutions (e.g. AirWatch MDM)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365 Enterprise Mobility and Security (EMS)
  • Knowledge of Azure IaaS and PaaS solutions
  • Knowledge of virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V)
  • Familiarity with PRINCE2 or equivalent project management methodologies

Education:

Essential:

  • Bachelor or equivalent university degree in computer or information science, mathematics or related field
  • Microsoft certifications in Microsoft Endpoint Manager Configuration Manager, Intune, Windows 10

 Desirable:

  • Azure certifications
  • ISO 20000 Service Management certification
  • PRINCE2 certification or equivalent project management methodologies
  • ITIL certifications

Languages:

  • English: Expert knowledge is required
  • Other language: Spanish, Intermediate knowledge is desirable

Compensation:

Annual Salary Estimation (net of tax at single rate), including post adjustment (32,6% on August 2021): US$ 79,868 .
