The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) is a multilateral development bank whose mission is financing the Infrastructure for Tomorrow—infrastructure with sustainability at its core. We began operations in Beijing in January 2016 and have since grown to 103 approved members worldwide. We are capitalized up to USD100 billion and Triple-A-rated by the major international credit rating agencies. Working with partners, AIIB meets clients’ needs by unlocking new capital and investing in infrastructure that is green, technology-enabled and promotes regional connectivity.

The primary responsibilities of Treasury are to raise funds from the capital market; to invest AIIB’s liquidity in low risk assets; to maintain its international credit ratings; and to advise Senior Management on key capital investment and management issues. Treasury Client Solutions is a transaction, structuring and execution team in the Office of the Treasurer that supports the AIIB’s Investment Operations (IO) teams with treasury solutions. The Treasury Officer / Senior Treasury Officer will focus on derivative solutions, structured products and local currency debt capital market initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, structure and execute transactions to provide financing solutions to support AIIB’s clients through debt capital markets, structured products and local currency derivatives.
  • Develop innovative and appropriate financial structures for complex transactions.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key external and internal stakeholders.
  • Cooperate with AIIB's IO teams in marketing financing solutions to clients.
  • Work with regulatory agencies and banks to structure workable solutions for AIIB.
  • Conduct market intelligence of local and international debt capital markets.
  • In collaboration with relevant internal stakeholders, assist in the preparation and execution of AIIB’s local currency bond issuances.
  • Provide training and knowledge management services to internal and external clients.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 8-10 years of relevant transaction experience in a wide range of financial markets in the following areas: fixed income/cross-currency derivatives/structured finance/local debt capital markets within a development finance institution, an investment bank, rating agency or other institution related to capital markets.
  • Excellent conceptual understanding and emerging markets structuring experience of fixed-income instruments including derivatives and structured credit products.
  • Strong business development, structuring and client relationship skills and track record for emerging markets transactions.
  • Proven ability to effectively provide solutions to clients’ needs.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English; Knowledge of a language(s) of a country in which AIIB invests would be an advantage
  • Ability to interact directly and independently with senior management of potential clients, financial and technical partners and senior government officials.
  • Detail-oriented, conscientious, systematic, and strong sense of teamwork.
  • Good knowledge of information platforms such as Bloomberg or Reuters.
  • Highly motivated and committed to the highest ethical standards.
  • Master’s degree in finance or related field. Strong background in financial engineering or a quantitative field would be desirable.

AIIB is committed to diversity, transparency and inclusion. We believe our strength comes from having a team with the right diverse skills, experiences and abilities selected through a merit-based competitive process. We actively encourage applications from people from both within and outside AIIB members, regardless of nationality, religion, gender, race, disability or sexual orientation.

Join in AIIB’s mission to promote sustainable infrastructure investments and to improve social and economic outcomes in Asia and beyond.
