Background/IRC Summary: The International Rescue Committee (IRC) responds to the world’s worst humanitarian crises, helping to restore health, safety, education, economic wellbeing, and power to people devastated by conflict and disaster. Founded in 1933 at the call of Albert Einstein, the IRC is at work in over 40 countries and 26 U.S. cities helping people to survive, reclaim control of their future and strengthen their communities. The IRC has been operating in Thailand since 1975 and currently provides assistance to displaced persons in Tak, Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi and Mae Hong Son provinces. IRC Thailand has launched new project Preparedness for protection in Southeast Asia in July 2021, which partially implement in Pattani, Yala and Narathiwat Province. The project aims to strengthen the protection response capacities of local disaster preparedness ecosystems and enhance protection risk reductions activities, including violence prevention at community level. In partnership with Thailand Association of Social Worker, this project focus to support capacity and coordination among local authority and community to prepare and response to protection needs of community and marginalize people in deep south province of Thailand.


Job Overview/Summary:

The Senior Social Worker base in IRC’s Pattani Office, with under supervision of Senior Protection Project Manager. The Senior Social Worker will play key role in implementing project’s activity under the result of “Communities, especially vulnerable women, girls, men, and boys are empowered to mitigate protection risks posted to them and promote their rights during humanitarian emergencies/crisis. The Senior Social Worker will work closely with Thailand Association of Social Worker in technical support and capacity building including technical coordination for activities under responsible of Thailand Association of Social Worker.
1. Major Responsibilities:
1.1 Taking lead in implementing project activities related to capacity building, technical support on case management and community protection mechanism.
1.2 Service as focal person for regular advice or support on case management for partner organizations.
1.3 Develop and tailor case management tools to support case management processes of partner organization such as fact finding, needs assessment, care plan and case coordination guidelines and other tools to enhance case management practices and processes internally and externally.
1.4 Provide technical support to partners in developing and implementing referral guidelines or standard operating procedures related to protection services to target population.
1.5 In coordination with Thailand Association of Social Worker in developing training curriculum, facilitate/joint facilitate training related to social work principles, social work knowledge and skills to partners organization.
1.6 Responsible to document and facilitate analysis process related to functioning and gap related to support for protection need, for program adjustment or future program design.

2. Networking and Advocacy
2.1 Serve as the IRC’s representative with the Department of Social Welfare and the One Stop Service Crisis Center (OSCC) on relevant matters in project location.
2.2 Serve as the focal person in coordinating with academic institutions such as the Faculty of Social Worker or future identified organization/institution.
2.3 Represent the IRC in meetings with stakeholders or Thai government agencies as assigned by Senior Protection Project Manager.

3. Program Management
3.1 Collect and document data on program progress and program monitoring and evaluation in coordination with the Senior Protection Program Manager provide program data for donor reports and project reports.
3.2 Support the Senior Protection Project Manager in developing program lessons learned and information necessary for program implementation.
3.3 Actively participate in, and contribute to, the IRC Thailand country program meetings and trainings as relevant.

External: Local authority in Pattani, Yala and Naratiwat including Provincial Department of Social Development and Human Security in, OSCC, Provincial Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation.
