Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an international humanitarian medical association, created in 1971, which provides assistance to populations that are suffering from illness or injury as a result of armed conflict, epidemics, natural disasters or exclusion from care. Today, MSF is present in more than 60 countries around the world.

The Operational Center Paris (OCP) is a group composed of the following 4 MSF sections : Australia, France, Japan and USA.

OCP is responsible for operations conducted in about ninety projects in over 33 countries and for actions related to these operations: bearing witness, communication, human resources management, financial management of operations, private and institutional fundraising.

The 4 sections coordinate with each other, providing specific support to the Group's operations.

Mission : To develop the integration of Environmental concerns within OCP, at all levels: strategic, tactical, operational and cultural.

Responsibility : Under the supervision of Deputy General Director to initiate, coordinate and support all strategies and tactics linked to the implementation of the Group Committee Environment Commitments, and to help define the strategic visions and associated workplans. Participate in the construction and implementation of the OCP environmental roadmap. **

Context of the position: OCP’s awareness of the Environmental crisis has increased in the past few years. Its 2020-2023 strategic plan contains numerous references to its environmental responsibility and the necessity to act to reduce its negative externalities and to integrate environmental aspects in its operational and institutional policies. The Group Committee statement voted on in January 2020 by the Board of Directors was the first concrete step on this path. In June 2021, the first measures of OCP’s carbon footprint were introduced at the Group Committee, and the decision was taken to set an objective of reduction of 50% by 2030. A partnership with the CAA initiative (Climate Action Accelerator) was signed in July 2021.
