STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: University Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting,or any other related fields involving the development of mathematical skills such as Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, Data Science, Information Technology or Computer Information Systems.
Language: Fluency (level C) in English language.
These jobs is found in Nicaragua Country Offices and reports to the Budget & Programming Officer.
Job holders at this level are expected, under general supervision, to take responsibility for completion of a range of processes and activities requiring some interpretation of standard guidelines/practices. They are expected to use own discretion to address unforeseen situations seeking advice from supervisor. Job holders support management of financial resources and may provide guidance to other staff.
To provide technical support for efficient planning, monitoring and analysis of project financial performance to enhance optimal use of financial resources.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)
- Contribute to the elaboration, review of budget plans, monitoring and analysis of project financial performance and make recommendations in compliance with WFP financial policies and procedures and best practices to support financial analysis and optimization of resources.
- Utilize various sources of information to prepare financial analysis on fund and grant balances and refer to the supervisor discrepancies, to support maximum fund utilization and decision-making process.
- Contribute maintain efficient pipeline management by inputting accurate data to facilitate the monitoring of food resources, maintain traceability of food for donor reporting and prevent shortfalls and pipeline breaks.
- Enter accurate data in the corporate systems within the established deadlines, to enable easy access to information and support planning and decision-making.
- Compile data and provide analysis, maintain accurate records and files and prepare periodic and ad hoc reports for further reviews, to support accuracy and efficiency of information presented to internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain communication with several individuals regarding project funds management matters and related processes to clarify any discrepancies and optimize use of funds.
- Lead the completion of corporate fund management exercises in conjunction with other units as necessary.
- Identify any discrepancies or risks related to the consumption of funds and communicate them
- Provide guidance and on-the-job training to other staff in budget planning, fund management and operational planning, to support continued development and consistency in services delivered.
- Follow standard emergency preparedness practices, to ensure WFP can quickly respond and deploy needed resources to affected areas at the onset of the crisis

Performance Budgeting, Analysis & Reporting
Analyzes budgets and forecasts to support the development of recommendations for senior leadership on financial and business planning matters in accordance with Value for Money principles.
Monitors trends in staffing and resource usage to anticipate and escalate potential issues to programme leaders.
Displays sufficient understanding of WFP performance management system to gather relevant and accurate information from internal and external sources for inputs to monitoring and/or evaluation processes.
Supply Chain and Operations Knowledge
Demonstrates basic understanding of WFP programme, implementation, and supply chain principles (including project modalities & structures).
TERMS AND CONDITIONS

CONTRACT TYPE: Service Contract - SC5
DUTY STATION: (City, Country): Managua, Nicaragua
DURATION OF APPOINTMENT: Six (6) months. Renewal subject to funds and performance.
