Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of the Head of Exploration or his/her designated mandated representative(s), the UNV Visual Anthropology Officer will:
o Researching, designing, implementing, and managing exploration software programs.
o Writing and implementing efficient code
o Deploying and training team on software tools.
o Maintain, upkeep, manage, upgrade, and regulate information and data flows of websites and apps.
o Work closely with exploration team members to support the software and data analysis related tasks for exploration products.
o Preparing materials for data communication.
o Desk research, Data collection and information management tasks.
o Help in building Sudan Horizon Scanners software, methodology, community, and virtual space.
o Coordination and facilitation for workshops and training for different exploration products and activities.
o Create and deliver tailored training on software development and data analysis and visualization tools and languages such as SQL, Python, Tableau/PowerBI, and Apache Hadoop.
o Assist in the logistics and administrative aspects of projects assigned by supervisor
o Support other programme related activities
Furthermore, UN Volunteers are encouraged to integrate the UN Volunteers programme mandate within their assignment and promote voluntary action through engagement with communities in the course of their work. As such, UN Volunteers should dedicate a part of their working time to some of the following suggested activities:
· Strengthen their knowledge and understanding of the concept of volunteerism by reading relevant UNV and external publications and take active part in UNV activities (for instance in events that mark International Volunteer Day);
· Be acquainted with and build on traditional and/or local forms of volunteerism in the host country;
· Provide annual and end of assignment self-reports on UN Volunteer actions, results and opportunities.
· Contribute articles/write-ups on field experiences and submit them for UNV publications/websites, newsletters, press releases, etc.;
· Assist with the UNV Buddy Programme for newly-arrived UN Volunteers;
Promote or advise local groups in the use of online volunteering or encourage relevant local individuals and organizations to use the UNV Online Volunteering service whenever technically possible.
Qualifications/Requirements Required degree level Master degree or equivalent Educational additional comments· An MBA or a master’s degree in knowledge management or related fields.
Required experience 36 Months Experience remark· Ability to liaise and communicate with a range of national and international partners;
· Excellent spoken and written communication skills.
· Being comfortable around ambiguity and have a grasp on topics entertaining complexity science and system thinking.
· Previous experience in coordination or program management is an asset.
· Excellent spoken and written communication skills.
· Proven record of working individually and in teams.
