IRC Background:
Founded in 1933, the IRC is a leading nonsectarian, voluntary organization providing relief, protection and resettlement services for refugees and victims of oppression or violent conflict. In the U.S.; IRC provides assistance to refugees resettling here through 27 offices operating in 16 states. IRC resettles approximately 11,000 refugees per year and provides numerous program services to assist the refugee from their arrival through citizenship. The IRC in Salt Lake City opened it office in 1994, and provides resettlement services through extended case management to newly arrived refugees for up to 24-months as well as over twenty different programs to educate and empower refugees.
Job Overview:
The Afghan Placement and Assistance (APA) Program is a new program being implemented at the International Rescue Committee to assist individuals from Afghanistan who are arriving in the United States. The Finance and Administrative Assistant will be responsible for providing support to the administrative, finance and operations team at IRC SLC as arrivals increase. This position reports directly to the Senior Finance Coordinator and will work closely with the Administrative Coordinator as well.
Major Responsibilities:
Finance
•Support finance team in distributing client direct assistance including, but not limited to, pocket money and bus passes.
•Assist in inventory counts and record keeping.
•Coordinate new employee access and maintain vendor records in Integra (Microsoft Dynamics 365), IRC’s enterprise resource planning and accounting system.
Administrative
•Assist Administrative Coordinator with new hire-related tasks including, but not limited to, preparing paperwork, updating organizational chart and adding new hires to office calendars.
•Assist Administrative Coordinator in tracking time off requests.
•Maintain clean office environment inline with COVID-19 and other safety and security protocols.
Additional
•Other related Finance and Administrative tasks as assigned.
•Participate in all program meetings, staff development activities, and fully engage as a member of the team.
•Comply with all policies, procedures and protocols of the agency.
