Role 

The Global Roving HoP will undertake short-term assignments, up to 6 months, to different NRC country operations. Assignments are based on requests from NRC’s Regional Offices and Country Offices.

The main purpose of the Global Roving HoP is to function as interim Head of Programme in an existing or new NRC country programme. The postholder may also be requested to take on other types of roles and assignments, depending on the postholder’s competencies and organisational needs. These assignments will be discussed bilaterally between the employee and the overall line manager in each individual case.

Should there at any point be a situation where the staff has taken all accrued leaved and R&R, and in the unlikely event of no new missions lined up, the ERS reserves the right to task the staff with tasks relevant to the skills of the staff. These tasks may either be performed in Head Office, or in a location agreed.

 

Head of Programme

The purpose of the Head of Programme position is to develop and ensure implementation of holistic high-quality programmes.

Responsibilities 

  1. Line management for Core Competence Specialists
  2. Member of the Country Management Group (CMG)
  3. Compliance with and adherence to NRC policies, guidance and procedures
  4. Provide programme input to Country Strategy and Plan of Action
  5. Development of Core Competency strategies that are aligned to regional and global priorities and strategies
  6. Development of holistic and needs based programmes, including cash-based interventions and market-based programmes
  7. Identify funding opportunities, develop funding strategies and forecasts
  8. Grants management, BPO allocations and reporting to donors, including compliance with donor standards
  9. Quality control, M&E and organizational learning
  10. Capacity building of all technical staff
