The purpose of the Logistic Manager is to ensure the logistical set up in Sudan is according to NRC standards and to support programme/project implementation

Your basic background to perform the tasks include:

  • Minimum three years of experience from working as a senior Logistics Manager in a humanitarian/recovery context
  • Experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
  • Knowledge and skills in market assessments, analysis and cash-based interventions

We shall measure your ability to perform on the below tasks:

  • Provide an enabling environment for the design and implementation of cash-based interventions, through working across programme and support teams and the development of relevant guidance and SoPs, helping manage arrangements with Financial Services Providers, and supporting or leading market monitoring, assessments, analysis and contributing to response analysis discussions.
  • Create and develop area office logistics departments as per the country strategy for 2021 and following years.
  • Supervise the setup of the supply chain from Country office to Area offices, and from Area offices to Fields offices.
  • As a Country Management Group member, the holder should contribute to the development of the mission strategy
  • Support program managers in the various phases of the project cycle (procurement plan, client-oriented logistics strategy)
  • Define and develop logistics training and capacity building for all logistics staff.
  • Manage performance and staff development of staff under his/her responsibility.

To excel in your role, the below is necessary

  • Knowledge of the context in Sudan and, if possible, Darfur, White Nile, Gedaref and South Kordofan regions
  • Knowledge and experience of fleet management and radio/satellite communications infrastructure
  • Fluency in Arabic and English, both written and verbal is an asset
  • Experience with start-up missions is an asset.
