HR & Interpreter Services Coordinator

Job Overview:

The HR and Interpreter Services Coordinator serves as the initial point of contact for HR-related activities for staff in IRC’s Dallas and Abilene offices and organizes the delivery of high quality, reliable language interpretation and interpreter training that facilitates access to health, education, government, legal, and community services for limited English proficient (LEP) clients.

Major Responsibilities:

Human Resources Administration

·Serve as the offices’ first point of contact on employee lifecycle matters, including but not limited to recruitment, new hire setup and orientation, benefits, payroll, on-boarding, leaves of absence, status changes, and separations.

·Coordinate background checks for staff, interns, and volunteers.

·Maintain time off calendar.

·Support compliance with HR-related IRC policies and procedures and state-specific labor laws.

·Coordinate HQ initiatives related to the IRC Way, Duty of Care, Safeguarding, and related content.

·Administer the organization’s applicant tracking system, posting and closing locally-managed requisitions and providing related coordination.

·Liaise with Regional HR Partner to escalate issues and connect staff with appropriate HR-related training and other resources.

Recruitment, Training, and Management of Interpreters

·Recruit, assess, hire, orient, and train bilingual speakers as interpreters through advertisements and networking with community partners and organizations.

·Conduct on-going coaching, training and assessment of interpreters focused on ethics, accuracy, impartiality, professionalism, and other topics.

·Ensure that interpreters adhere to national standards of interpreter ethics.

·Assign interpreters to assignments, taking into consideration interpreters’ availability, training, experience, past performance, and familiarity with clients’ needs.

·Reconcile interpreter assignments by ensuring timesheets are completed timely and accurately.

·Prepare reports as needed.

Other

·May support reception, supply chain, facilities management, and other related activities as needed.

·Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Work Experience: Minimum 3 years of related professional experience.

Demonstrated Skills and Competencies:

·Highly organized self-starter with demonstrated problem-solving and follow-through ability, and proven success in managing multiple and diverse priorities under pressure.

·Strong analytic problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

·Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as an overall ability to be clear and concise in all communications.

·Strong organizational and time-management skills; proven ability to prioritize and deliver on time in a demanding, fast-paced environment.

·Ability to work both independently and in a dynamic, cross-functional global team structure.

·Highly proficient in Microsoft Office suite.

·Demonstrated ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

·Ability to manage and work through change in a proactive and positive manner.

·Ability to work some evenings and weekends as needed.

Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent directly related experience required.

Language Skills:Fluency in English required.

Preferred experience & skills: Prior people management experience preferred
