Role and responsibilities:

  • Organize and lead needs assessments, focus group discussions, community meetings, and other community mobilization activities
  • Under the supervision of the Project Coordinator/Area Program Manager, liaise with relevant stakeholders, including governmental authorities, humanitarian and development organizations. Coordinate with international and local partners on activities and assistance conducted within the area of intervention.
  • Carry-out field level coordination with community stakeholders in areas of project implementation
  • Support the identification of potential local partners, voluntary groups as part of NRC localization strategic priority.
  • In collaboration with the Project Coordinators, facilitate and monitor project activities implementation by local partners with a focus on performance/ reliability, discussing capacity building needs, delivering capacity building/ basic training.
  • Assess and monitor data and information systems to improve efficiency and accuracy of UDOC data.
  • Organize and lead field level M&E activities and develop success stories from project implementation
  • Ensure that all data collection, storage, analyses and dissemination is in line with NRC’s data protection principles.
  • Assist the PC in developing messaging around project implementation methodology, scope of work, selection criteria and any other related beneficiary project documents and ensure effective delivery of such messaging to beneficiaries and stakeholders
  • Support the establishment and maintenance of coordination mechanisms and coordination tools (e.g. 3W, service mapping etc.).
  • Set up and maintain an overall schedule and plan of activities of NRC community incentive staff working in the area of intervention. Participate in the recruitment of staff and provide on the job training as required.
  • In collaboration with Project Coordinator prepare procurement requests, payment lists, attendance sheets, etc. as needed.
  • Perform any other activities requested by the line manager.

Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of the context in Iraq in general and specifically Ninewa and Sinjar.
  • Minimum two years of experience in international and/or local NGO; ideally involved in the direct implementation of field level humanitarian assistance to IDPs/ returnees.
  • A University degree in social work, humanitarian assistance/development, project management, or related subject is required.
  • Proven skills and experience in monitoring and documenting humanitarian project implementation
  • Experience in conducting, organizing and managing conducting needs/vulnerability assessments and beneficiary selection processes.
  • Proven leadership skills and related experience in building, establishing, and negotiating relationships and social networks with stakeholders at the community, local, and national levels
  • Ability to work in Ninewa governorate, and provide own transportation and accommodation in Sinjar.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with people of all ages, genders, education levels, and backgrounds.

  • Contract Duration: 3 months ( with the possibility of extension)
  • Duty Station: Sinjar - Iraq

  • Salary: G5/S1, According to NRC’s Iraq salary scale and terms and conditions.
