NRC, through its Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) programme, has opened a drilling unit in CAR since October 2020. This unit consists of a drilling machine (Pat Drill 421) and the required accessories as well as a semi-mobile team managed by a Programme Manager responding to the Head of Programmes as line manager and to the WASH PDM as technical matrix manager. This drilling unit allowed the construction of new boreholes in the areas of Bangui, Kaga Bandoro and Alindao.

The instability in CAR continues to reduce population capacity to access basic social services, including the accessibility and continuity of water and sanitation services.
