Scope of Work

The Economic Empowerment Supervisor manages a portfolio of programs promoting client self-sufficiency. They supervise a team conducting program intake, delivering services, and managing data and case file documentation. The supervisor supports the team in achieving program targets relating to enrollment, economic empowerment outcomes, and connection to community benefits and resources.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

Service Delivery, Documentation, Reporting and Contract Compliance

·Oversee staff, interns and volunteers providing employment, job training, career development, cash assistance and support services to clients enrolled in economic empowerment programs.

·Monitor intake and enrollment trends, quality of service provision and timeliness and accuracy of case file documentation. Ensure quality of data in relevant databases.

·Collaborate with colleagues to facilitate smooth transition of cases from initial resettlement services and coordination of services for clients being served across multiple programs.

·Oversee growth and expansion of job training programs and opportunities that promote client self-sufficiency.

·Compile regular and ad hoc reports.

·Contribute to the preparation of grants to maintain and/or expand economic empowerment programming.

Partnership Building

·Engage with local employers and employment networks to generate job leads and promote hiring of IRC clients.

·Liaise with local agencies to ensure clients can effectively access benefits and services.

Staff Supervision and Other Responsibilities

·Supervise and coach staff through close communication regarding challenging cases; carry out timely, professional interventions to ensure appropriate service delivery

·Recruit, train, orient, monitor, and evaluate staff performance and ensure staff objectives are met

·Participate in IRC network-wide initiatives to understand and share best-practices relating to client economic empowerment

·Represent IRC in public, professional and governmental forums as assigned

·Participate on the IRC Abilene leadership team, providing key insight and supporting a range of activities relevant to the smooth functioning of the office.

·Other duties as required

Requirements

·Undergraduate degree required, preferably in social work or related field

·Minimum of 2 years related work experience in human services field, preferably in a resettlement context

·At least 2 years’ experience in program and people management strongly preferred

·Demonstrated ability to promote an organizational culture that reflects IRC’s core values of service, accountability, integrity, and equality.Ability to lead in a way that recognizes that IRC’s work is best accomplished through the true collaboration of individuals from many cultures with a great variety of skills and perspectives.

·Demonstrated success working and communicating effectively in a multi-cultural environment

·Proven ability to contribute both independently and as a key team member

·Self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills combined with the proven ability to multi-task, prioritize duties, and manage time effectively

·Fluent in English, both spoken and written; bilingual ability in one of the predominant languages of the local client base is desired

·Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)

·Valid driver’s license, access to vehicle with current insurance, and the ability to travel regularly throughout the service delivery area (home visits, agency visits, service provider visits etc)

Working Environment:

·A combination of standard office environment, remote work, and ‘field’ time within the service delivery area to perform the above outlined responsibilities.

·May require occasional weekend and/or evening work.
