Immigration Intake Specialist

The Immigration Intake Specialist will serve as the central point of contact for immigration calls from clients to the IRC and provide administrative support to the Community Integration Department. This position involves working directly with clients in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professional standards and best practices for client appointments and communication. The Immigration Intake Specialist will also conduct outreach to eligible populations and communities. This position reports to the Community Integration Manager and works closely with each member of the legal team and the receptionist. 

Responsibilities:

• Conduct eligibility screenings for walk-in clients including asylees, refugees, immigrants and anyone seeking immigration legal services
• Under the supervision of Community Integration Manager, provide clients information on immigration benefits before USCIS, work with clients to gather documents, and assist clients to complete applications
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge and eligibility criteria for immigration legal services. Provide appointments and follow up on cases for immigration clients
• Maintain a detailed, accurate and comprehensive database of walk-in clients and returning clients
• Track and submit reports on walk-in clients and returning clients
• Answer phone calls and manage mail (USICS correspondence) for the immigration program
• Schedule client appointments and send reminder text messages and/or phone calls
• Conduct monthly file review and report
• Create physical files and labels
• Other tasks and projects as assigned
