UNICEF CO Ukraine is seeking the services of an international and/or national individual consultant to develop the Business Engagement Review in Ukraine, that would be part of the resource mobilization strategy and will contribute to the development of the new Country Programme Document (CPD) 2023-2027. The review should be based on the latest available evidence and Situational Analysis 2021, and the Business Impact Analysis conducted in 2021, while paying due consideration to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) agenda, UNICEF Strategic Plan for 2018-2021 and new UNICEF Strategic Plan, UNICEF Gender Action Plan 2018-2021, relevant UNICEF Guidance on business engagement, Child Rights and Busines, etc. UNICEF sees Private Sector engagement as a critical strategy to achieve its strategic goals and to advance children’s rights. The “Business 4 Results” approach brings to life this vision and asks all levels of the organization to step up their work in this area. The new 2023-27 CPD is an opportunity to further integrate the B4R approach in UNICEF Ukraine programmatic work, ensuring full alignment with program priorities and adequate allocation of resources. The Review will be a key basis to define how business impacts children in the country and to assess the potential for engagement with business to deliver outcomes for children in relation to the upcoming CPD for 2023 – 2027 (including the Resource Mobilization Strategy, Theories of Change and Country Programme Document).

How can you make a difference?
To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…
Education: Master's degree in institution/researcher with proven experience in business and policy analysis, corporate responsibility, corporate governance or business and human rights issues; Advanced degree in social sciences or related fields relevant for the assignment.
Professional experience: At least 3 years of relevant experience in the development of analytical reports and policy documents related to business analysis, corporate social responsibility, etc. Proven experience in quantitative and qualitative data analysis, policy analysis and report preparation. Experience in facilitating consultations with the business sector and government representatives and other stakeholders.
Language:English - Proficient/Native [C2]; Ukraininan - is an advantage; Russian - is an advantage.
Skills and competencies: Strong analytical skills – references to previous work or institutions. Excellent writing and presentation skills. Good knowledge of private-sector analysis, statistics, corporate responsibility and responsible business conduct, children’s rights, human rights, the development agenda, gender, and equity issues. Good understanding of the business environment in Ukraine and/ or in the region. Previous experience with UNICEF is an advantage.

Their conditions of service will be governed by their contract and the General Conditions of Contracts for the Services of Consultants and Individual Contractors. Consultants and individual contractors are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws.
