Task description

Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of the Protection Officer or his/her designated mandated representative(s), the UN Volunteer will: • Perform the following tasks: provide daily protection ‘on-call at the UNHCR reception and registration center. • Implement mechanisms for the identification, documentation, referral, and care of people with specific needs such as women at risk, the elderly, children at risk, single-parent families, victims of violence and people living with a disability. • Monitor the care of people with specific needs, particularly with partners and competent authorities. • Guarantee the participation and community mobilization of refugees in all phases of the programs (needs analysis, planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation). • Contribute to the implementation of participatory assessments following an age, gender, and diversity approach. • Contribute to the implementation of Best Interests Assessments (HIAs) and contribute to best interest determinations (DIS) of each child case when necessary. • Contribute to the implementation of prevention and response activities against gender-based sexual violence (SGBV). • Contribute to the implementation of education strategies aimed at strengthening the education offer for refugee children. • Contribute to the promotion of activities promoting peaceful coexistence and peaceful coexistence between refugees and the host communities that have received them. • Write regular status reports. • Document incidents, assessments and interventions and enter data into procedures, in accordance with applicable operational standards. • Perform any other task as needed.
