The Common Services Unit (CSU), UNICEF Thailand Country Office (TCO) is seeking an individual contractor to assist CSU/Finance team; providing a variety of specialized tasks in finance functions, ensuring accurate and timely delivery that is in compliance with UNICEF financial rules and regulations, whilst demonstrating the capacity to research, adapt and evaluate irregular cases, and also to recommend improvements to process delivery and design.

How can you make a difference?

The Common Services Unit (CSU), UNICEF Thailand Country Office (TCO) is seeking an individual contractor to assist CSU/Finance team; providing a variety of specialized tasks in finance functions, ensuring accurate and timely delivery that is in compliance with UNICEF financial rules and regulations, whilst demonstrating the capacity to research, adapt and evaluate irregular cases, and also to recommend improvements to process delivery and design.


Work Assignment:

Under supervision of Finance Officer, the supervisor, the contractor/consultant is expected to:

  • Assist on all aspects related to preparation of reports, compilation of data and answering queries on pledges recorded, funds received, adjustments made to ensure financial compliance, accuracy and completeness of data for its inclusion into statement of accounts and adjustment of budgets. Advise units of discrepancies and assist to resolve differences in their records
  • Maintains financial records and monitoring systems to record and reconcile expenditures, balances, payments, statements and other data for day-to-day transactions and reports
  • Selects and enters data from a wide variety of documents, verifying and ensuring accuracy by checking sources, making necessary calculations and assuring inclusion of all relevant data
  • Assist in preparation of recurring reports as schedules and special reports, as required for budget preparation, audits or other reasons.
  • Assist in close year-end account and assist in the preparation of year-end reports related to accounts receivable, accounts payable, prepayment, deposits, NEP and leave balances, etc.
  • Support the correspondence to verify data, answers query and obtains additional information on accounts and financial transactions, as required.
  • Support the team in maintaining liaisons with officials of local banks to obtain day-to-day information on exchange and interest rates, changes in procedures and regulations, and matters pertaining to maintenance of office bank accounts. This includes prepares recurring reports and bank reconciliation

End Product(s):

  • Monthly submission of deliverables per agreed work plan.
  • A submission of progress report is expected at the end of each month.

Duration of Contract:   6 months during the period of 16.11.2021 -15.05.2022.

Working Location and Work Schedule: The consultant will work in UNICEF Thailand Country Office and is expected to perform the above work assignment under full-time arrangement on a monthly basis for 6 months period based on agreed work plan with the supervisor of contract. 

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Account, Business Administration, or related fields.
  • A minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible work experience relevant to assignment.
  • Good command in Thai and English communication -verbal and written
  • Computer literacy in MS Office also online researching
  • Ability to extract and format data and to solve operational problems
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently with good teamwork skill
  • Proven track record in organizing own work, set priorities, and meet deadlines.

Consultants and individual contractors are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws.
