We are recruiting a Communications Officer to accelerate and modernise our digital outreach and graphic design. This is a new role and the Officer reports directly to the Head of Communications, working in close collaboration to support our programmatic work through digital outreach and creative content.

Main responsibilities

  • Create digital strategies and execute digital outreach for our flagship publications and other communication products and events
  • Produce creative content for our online communication channels, including the website, social media, newsletters.
  • Help maintain the Foundation’s website and manage social channels and calendars
  • Monitor all our social channels and stay attuned to online conversations relevant to our work
  • Maintain relationships and monitor production with external vendors (film producers, website developers, etc)
  • Conceptualize, design, and implement graphic design for our print publications, papers, and brochures.
  • Review our graphic profile and lead the work to evolve this profile.
  • Monitor and evaluate the outcomes of our digital and social outreach and engage in research on digital trends.
  • Perform additional tasks in support of work programmes as assigned by the Head of Communications.

Who you are

  • We are looking for a person with Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of five years of work experience in digital communications and graphic design.
  • As a person you are a strong project manager and possess an ability to initiate and drive tasks and ideas forward. You are inspired by digital content and can engage a broader audience through innovative content and outreach.
  • You will need to have hands-on experience of graphic design and communication work such doing the layout for publications, as well as crafting messages and graphics for social media.
  • You will have experience using Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop).
  • You will have experience using website Content Management Systems (preferably WordPress) and Google Analytics. Experience with video production is a plus.
  • You have excellent oral and written communication skills in English. Having a good command of the Swedish language is a merit but not a requirement.
  • You have a good understanding of the issues the Foundation works on and experience working for an international organisation is a merit.
  • You are open-minded, flexible, and a good team player, with an understanding of the work of a values-based organisation. You have the ability to maintain professionalism, creativity, and enthusiasm working in a fast-paced international environment.
  • You already have the right to work in Sweden (the Foundation will not be able to sponsor a work permit).

Terms of employment

  • The Communications Officer will be based at the Foundation’s office in Uppsala, Sweden, with opportunity for flexibility some days of the week. (Note: The Foundation monitors the guidelines from Folkhälsomydigheten in regard to COVID-19 and updates any policies in regard to home-based work in accordance with the recommendations.)
  • The position is temporary for a two-year period, with six months of probation. The salary will be determined based on the individual’s experience and qualifications.
  • The Foundation offers generous leave benefits and a wellness allowance based on full-time employment.
  • Pensions are stipulated in the Foundation’s Pensions Policy.
