Overview of position

Under the direct supervision of the CS Project Manager, the Capacity Building Specialist will be responsible for providing assistance for the development and the implementation of training activities related to IOM Libya’s social cohesion and livelihoods programming.

Role objectives

Responsibilities and Accountabilities :

1.     Develop and maintain training manuals for all capacity building activities of IOM Libya’s Community Stabilization Programme. This includes but is not limited to topics related to livelihoods training courses, conflict sensitivity, local governance and social cohesion.

2.     Deliver training sessions for implementing partners and local stakeholders in project locations. This may require travel to different locations in Libya.

3.     Identify and train group of subject matter experts and staff to support training activities, including required soft skills and adult learning competencies.

4.     Lead all required administrative processes to ensure successful delivery of training activities, such as identification & selection of participants, event logistics and related tasks.

5.     Regular updating, reporting and coordination with IOM’s offices in Tripoli and Tunis, and relevant staff members.

6.     Ensure capacity building of IOM Libya’s Community Stabilization field staff on relevant topics.

7.     Ensure consistent visibility of IOM Libya’s activities, and donor visibility in line with donor requirements.

8.     Perform such other duties as may be assigned.

Education : 

·University Degree in education, teaching, or other relevant subjects from an accredited institution.

Experience :

·Experience in developing training materials and delivering trainings to a variety of audiences.

Skills : 

·Effective organizational skills and ability to establish priorities and plans, ability to work under pressure and cope with deadlines

·Good written and spoken communications skills, good interpersonal skills, ability to work in a multi-cultural environment;

Languages : 

·Fluency in English and Arabic (oral and written).
