The Multinational Force and Observers seeks an Operations and Legal Assistant. The incumbent will be responsible for conducting research, writing, and projects assigned by the MFO General Counsel, the Director of Policy, Plans and Operations, and the Senior Operations Officer and Special Assistant to the DG related to the full range of policy and legal issues arising in the context of MFO operations. The incumbent will provide general administrative support to the General Counsel, the Director of Policy, Plans and Operations, and the Senior Operations Officer and Special Assistant to the DG.

A day in the life

  • Monitors the proper reporting and investigations of Serious Incidents. Ensures Serious Incident Reports are properly closed, archived, and retrievable for future reference.
  • Assists with processing of Treaty violation reports and maintains records of violation reports for future reference.
  • Performs a variety of administrative duties to include preparation of correspondence, forms, letters, reports, minutes, and other documents as directed.
  • Maintains all files and records of the Office of the General Counsel; reorganizes the files in accordance with guidance from the General Counsel.
  • Compiles, analyzes, and prepared reports on the budgets for the General Counsel, the Force Protection budget, and MFO Flying Hour program.
  • Conducts independent research, organizes findings, and makes recommendations on subjects as directed by the General Counsel, DPPO or SOOSA.
  • Drafts, edits and prepares, in consultation with the HQ Office Directors, amendments to MFO manuals, directives, and guidances. Maintains MFO master files.
  • Organizes and maintains the General Counsel and DPPO SharePoint sites on the MFO portal.
  • Performs executive assistant functions as required including travel arrangements and settlements and preparing briefing materials.
  • Keeps calendars of the DPPO and GC and makes/changes appointments as directed.
  • Performs additional duties as requested.

 

 Must-Have:

 

 

  • Bachelor's degree
  • At least 2 years’ experience in office/business environment
  • Proficiency in MS Office, including SharePoint
  • Experienced user of business intelligence software such as Power BI, Tableau, or Excel Analyst Toolpak
  • English – C2 Level of proficiency

 

 Nice to have:

 

 

  • Italian and Spanish will be considered a plus
  • Problem Solving and analytics Skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
