DESCRIPTION
The temporary IT Help Desk Assistant shall be part of the IT support team that provides continuous IT related support to staff. The Assistant will help the team perform all aspects of support related to the day to day computing needs of the staff.
Under the supervision of the Chief, IT, the Assistant will be expected to:
- Support the handling of IT Help Desk calls, providing first level support for networking and application issues; escalate complex problems to the appropriate staff.
- Following the On-Boarding and Off-Boarding process for staff.
- Support the IT asset lifecycle management, including participation in physical inventory.
- Provide Audio Visual support for meetings.
- Diagnose and resolve computer problems and requests from users in a timely manner.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot hardware, including desktops, laptops and printers.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot software packages, including operating systems, desktop software and custom applications.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or other IT-related studies. Student in the final year of higher education (university or other accredited institution) at graduate or postgraduate level in IT-related studies shall be considered as well;
- Relevant working experience in Help Desk routines is an advantage;
- Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software applications (Windows) and mobile devices in an enterprise environment;
- Ability to think calmly and rationally under pressure with minimal supervision;
- Working knowledge of desktop OS and software including Microsoft Office products;
- Familiarity with Desktop and Laptop hardware components;
- Customer focus and dedication to customer satisfaction;
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal;
- Strong initiative, self-motivation, and ability to complete tasks on time;
- Patience and warm personality while working with staff;
- Professional fluency in English, both written and spoken;
- An enthusiasm and attitude for learning.
PERIOD OF CONTRACT
The selected candidate is expected to start by as soon as possible and will be offered initially an hourly contract until the end of 2021 with a possibility for an extension.
COMPENSATION
The compensation will be based on KAICIID hourly rates, depending on the experience and expertise of the selected candidate.
