We are currently seeking a new Auditor. In this role you will coordinate and manage the execution of Preferred by Nature’s forestry and other sustainability supply chain certification services in Denmark. You will be directly involved in all aspects of sustainability certification audits including scheduling, project management, on-site auditing, customer service, management of contract auditors and quality control.

More specifically, your responsibilities will include:

• Act as Lead Auditor on selected evaluations. Number of audits will be 1,5 to 2 audits per week in average.
• Support the coordination and execution of evaluations in Denmark – this could include logistical planning, supporting consultants, liaising with clients, and finalising and reviewing reports (RRA).
• Develop and implement evaluation schedules and ensure timely and efficient completion of these.
• Ensure efficiency, quality control and adherence to Preferred by Nature’s technical and administration certification protocols.
• Provide customer service to current and potential clients of Preferred by Nature in Denmark
• Support market development for Preferred by Nature certification services in Denmark.
• Develop and maintain strong technical expertise in FSC/PEFC and Preferred by Nature policies, standards and protocols.
• Manage questions and disputes relating to active certification evaluations and clients consistent with Preferred by Nature and certification scheme policies.

Professional requirements

• Vocational education from the timber processing or timber trading industry OR university degree in forestry, biology, geography, environmental management or related field.
• At least 3 years’ work experience from the timber processing or timber trading industry. 
• Experience with auditing and/or familiarity with FSC/PEFC CoC or RA SAS standards will be considered an additional asset.
• Fluency in Danish and English (our organisational language) is essential, spoken as well as written.
• Proficient user of the MS Office package and good general knowledge of administrative IT systems.
• B-category driver’s license

• You are willing to travel approximately 50% of your worktime within Denmark as part of your role. 
• You have a high level of integrity and business ethics, to strike the balance between serving clients and at the same time not compromising your role as an auditor.
• You possess a high level of self-discipline, and the ability to organise and manage yourself and your time.
• You are comfortable making independent decisions, as the nature of the job requires you to work independently, often remotely from your colleagues.
• You are comfortable communicating frequently with colleagues around the world via Skype and email.
• You are a constructive team-player and have an open attitude towards other cultures, as we collaborate across borders in our organisation.
• You believe in Preferred by Nature’s vision and mission and want to contribute to fulfilling it.

Position details

• Work time: 37 hours/week   
• The position reports to our Team leader for Denmark and Sweden, based in Denmark
• Working location:  office in Aarhus or home office
• Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience
• Expected starting date: as soon as possible

Traceability Auditor er en nøgleposition i implementeringen af ​​Traceability Assurance Service's mål om at opretholde og øge kundeporteføljen og samtidig holde den høje kvalitet af audits. Hovedopgaven er at styre, gennemføre og administrere Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) audits og godkendelse af skovcertificering (PEFC™) Chain of Custody audits i Danmark.

Selvstændig, kundeorienteret og teamplayer
Når du selvstændigt, i ca. 50% af tiden, tager ud til kunder og laver audits skal du være velforberedt og skabe den gode dialog gennem respekt og tillid. Derfor vil det være naturligt, at du har et højt niveau af integritet og forretningsetik, og dermed forstår balancen mellem at være der for kunden uden at kompromittere din rolle som auditor.

Du skal være en holdspiller og have en åben holdning til andre kulturer, da vi samarbejder på tværs af grænser i vores organisation. Vi kommunikerer ofte med kollegaer over hele verden på Skype eller e-mail, og vi mødes mindst to gange om ugen på kontoret i Århus, hvor vi sparrer med hinanden og vender vores opgaver.
Vi ser gerne, at du har høj selvdisciplin og evner at strukturere de tildelte kunder, som skal auditeres inden for den givne tidsramme.

Du følger opgaven helt til døren gennem sikring af rapportskrivning og korrekt registrering af dokumenter.

Har du en splint i fingeren?
For os er det vigtigste, at du har den rigtige personlighed og det rette drive. Vi ser dog meget gerne, at du fx har en erhvervsuddannelse fra træforarbejdnings- eller tømmerhandelsindustrien eller alternativt en universitetsgrad i skovbrug, biologi, geografi, miljøledelse eller et beslægtet felt. Ideelt set har du allerede har nogle års erfaring fra arbejdsmarkedet. Det kan fx være fra en anden NGO eller naturbeskyttelsesprojekter - og hvis det er som auditor eller gennem arbejde med FSC/PEFC betragtes det som et stort plus.

Du er flydende på dansk og engelsk i både skrift og tale og så er du en ferm bruger af MS Office-pakken – med en overordnet og generel viden om administrative IT-systemer. Du skal have B-kategori kørekort, være klar på en 37 timers arbejdsuge og gerne bo i Jylland eller på Fyn – der er dog mulighed for hjemmearbejdsplads.
