SENIOR PROGRAM OFFICER

DEMOCRATIC AND INCLUSIVE GOVERNANCE

Term Position until March 2024 – Ottawa, Canada

As a Senior Program Officer you will be identify critical research and capacity issue, contribute to the development and implementation of the research strategy and manage, monitor, and evaluate a portfolio of research projects. Also, you will provide intellectual leadership to identify and create strategic synergies with other thematic programs in IDRC including with regional offices, the government of Canada, partner agencies, and other international organizations to ensure that IDRC is supporting key development challenges and opportunities in low and middle-income countries

Overview of Qualifications

· PhD (preferred) and a record of research and publication in a relevant discipline such as international development, peace and conflict studies, international law, political science or political economy. A Master’s degree in a relevant discipline with two (2) additional of qualifying experience will be accepted in lieu of a PhD. Requires three (3) years of relevant experience in monitoring and evaluation, including development of evaluation plans, compiling research results, and evaluating project and program progress …

· Bilingual (English/French) position at an intermediate level

· Knowledge of, current debates and research agendas on authoritarianism, fragility, violence, justice and promoting community engagement for democracy and governance in developing countries
