Background

UNDP is committed to achieving workforce diversity in terms of gender, nationality and culture. Individuals from minority groups, indigenous groups and persons with disabilities are equally encouraged to apply. All applications will be treated with the strictest confidence.

UNDP does not tolerate sexual exploitation and abuse, any kind of harassment, including sexual harassment, and discrimination. All selected candidates will, therefore, undergo rigorous reference and background checks.

UNDP launched BOOST in 2020 to support organizations in the region working on alleviating short- and long-term effects of the pandemic. BOOST aims to support and develop ecosystems of innovators working on systemic challenges.

BOOST incubates and accelerates social impact innovations, and is designed to help societies manage complexity and uncertainty. BOOST brings together partners committed to addressing the long-term effects of the pandemic by directly supporting SMEs, innovators, CSOs, social entrepreneurs and research institutes. It provides funding, professional support, and mentorship to selected applicants through an intensive 16-weeks online acceleration program, and promotes partnerships with businesses and governments that will last long after program completion. The first challenges addressed development issues related to digitalization, low-touch economies, and wellbeing. BOOST is a regional joint initiative, powered by UNDP Europe and Central Asia, and has brought together partners such as Koç Holding, the Slovak Ministry of Finance and the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
This model will now also be applied within the Tadamon platform, with the support of the Islamic Development Bank, and 50 civil society organizations will benefit from it. Tadamon is a part of the “NGO Empowerment” project funded by IsDB and implemented by UNDP; and is a platform that matches CSOs with donors and partners.

The next calls for innovative solutions for BOOST & Tadamon Accelerator is planned to be launched in December 2021, and will include two sets of challenges:
a) BOOST: Innovative ideas that seek to address structural issues that women face within tech/digital, including issues of connectivity, visibility in data, and access to resources.
b) Tadamon: Enhance capacity and access to funding for CSOs working to address issues related to the COVID-19 pandemic and its effects, including through 1) emergency medical response; 2) education in emergency; and 3) building community resilience.
