Procurement Specialist

The position undertakes the development of frameworks, procedures and sourcing strategies for procurement actions, including e-procurement, from their planning to their sourcing and to evaluation upon delivery, in order to increase value for money and help position GGGI as an accountable and trusted partner to donors and stakeholders.

PURPOSE

 

  • Design frameworks to guide the implementation of procurement systems and processes within GGGI in collaboration with departmental/divisional-level resources, to ensure integrity and compliance;
  • Ascertain that GGGI gets the best value for money in procurement contracts;
  • Recommend proactive/corrective/mitigating strategies/approaches to Management based on the results of procurement activities to facilitate the management of risk;
  • Advise on methods for green growth procurement.

 

ENGAGEMENT

 

  • Secure support from Management on the promotion and strengthening of a culture of accountability, integrity and compliance across GGGI in the procurement of goods and services.
  • Cooperate with departmental/divisional-level resources to obtain the best value for money in procurement contracts.

 

DELIVERY

 

  • Have approved annual strategic objectives for sourcing and work plans to deliver procurement services that highlight the organization's value as a responsible steward of resources;
  • Integrate professional procurement standards and mechanisms into GGGI frameworks to maintain the integrity of systems across the organization.
  • Cooperate closely and proactively with departmental/divisional-level resources to obtain the best value for money in procurement contracts;
  • Advise on methods to increase green growth with procurement.

 

REQUIREMENTS
QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Master's degree in Procurement, Contract Management, Business Administration, Finance or other related field or equivalent post graduate professional procurement work experience
  • Preferably 8-15 years of progressive experience in Procurement, Contract Management or Finance.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in the areas of procurement with the ability to translate theory into practice.
  • Secure collaboration/agreement from colleagues and partners reflecting empathy of perspectives and identifying mutual interests
  • Excellent communicator and be able to exercise sound judgement and decision making.
  • Strong problem solving and mathematical reasoning skills, as well as excellent relationship building and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated experience with ERP systems.
