ABOUT THE JOB

Providing Explosive Ordnance risk education in Explosive Ordnance impacted communities for the purpose of raising their awareness and promoting behavioral change towards Explosive Ordnance and to reduce the risk of injury from EO.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct EORE training in the assigned Afghan communities according to EORE SOP in close co-operation with the RE Officer / site operation officer.
  • Collect and compile UXO survey information during community visits, and share it with the RE officer.
  • Collect and compile EO victim information during community visits, and share it with report it to the RE officer. Ensure the information flow to the relevant DMAC RO.
  • Be responsible for the conduct of work of the driver assigned to EORE team.
  • Be responsible for EORE training material condition and quantities designated for the team.
  • Check all equipment and training material of the team for any damages in a daily basis and report accordingly. Ensure the driver does the same with the vehicle.
  • Keep record of daily, weekly and monthly EORE activities.
  • Report the progress weekly and monthly to the DDG RE officer in the operation area.
  • Maintain communication to the RE officer daily according to the SOP.
  • Maintain close contact and coordination of activities with the DDG Sur/EOD teams.
  • Report to DMAC RO on any newly discovered EO accidents, incidents, SHAs, mines and UXOs through RE officer.
  • Ensure good communication and coordination with local communities.
  • Participate in DMAC RO EORE/VA technical working groups and coordination meetings, if required.
  • Follow up operational work plan.
  • Brief the visitors and supervisors in the field with regards to EORE work and community information gathered.
  • Carry out any other tasks assigned by RE officer.
  • Liaise, assist and coordinate with other EORE Instructors in the field..

ABOUT YOU

To be successful in this role you must have:

Experience and technical competencies: 

  • 2 years’ experience in EORE (Explosive Ordnance Risk Education)
  • A good knowledge of liaison and communication
  •  Team should be couple and the Couple can travel to South Region provinces and District (Kandahar, Zabul, Helmand & Nimroz).

  • Female in DRC who travel for official trips will be allowed to travel with a Moharam and the travel/accommodation cost will be incurred by DRC.
  • Female mothers who work for DRC are eligible for Day Care cost for their children up to the age of 6.

Education/qualifications:

  • High school

Languages:

  • Pashto and Dari –fluency
  • English – preferred
  • Computer – preferred
