Position Overview:

The Marketing Communications Coordinator serves as a member of the Development team and works closely with the Development Director to increase community awareness of IRC’s activities and relevant issues, mobilize and organize the community around advocacy and education efforts, and support resource development efforts including digital fundraising campaigns and in-kind and volunteer needs. The Marketing Communications Coordinator will produce content for both print and Web, including program brochures and newsletters. This position will report to the Development Director.

Essential Responsibilities:

·Write, editand distribute materials, including program brochures, monthly newsletters, website updates, graphics, social media and press releases.

·Support digital fundraising and advocacy campaign efforts including creating graphics and other digital assets, building emails, and drafting social content.

·Support public events planning, marketing and implementation for the IRC in Dallas, including annual World Refugee Day event.

·Accurately collect and track data and analytics from the IRC in Dallas digital platforms and track and monitor media coverage.

·Provide support in preparing presentations and reports.

·Provide general communications and administrative support to the Development Team.

·Other related duties as assigned.

Position directly supervises: Volunteers and/or interns

Indirect Reporting: N/A

Other Internal and/or external:

Internal: The Marketing Communications Coordinator works closely with the Development team. In addition, the Communications Assistant may work with IRC HQ resource acquisition staff as well as HQ-RAI Communications Officer.

External: The Marketing Communications Coordinator will liaise with a wide variety of community stakeholders including partner orgs, individual supporters, donors and volunteers

Requirements:

·Bachelor’s Degree in marketing or communications preferred.

·Minimum 2 years of experience developing professional communications and outreach materials, event planning and/or community organizing required; nonprofit sector experience highly preferred.

·Familiarity with social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, etc.) within a professional context.

·Excellent computer skills (e.g., MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) required; proficiency in graphic design (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud, etc.) preferred.

·Strong writing and editing skills.

·Fluency in English, written and spoken.

·Excellent attention to detail and strong follow through.

·Excellent organizational and time management skills.

·Ability to communicate effectively and work as a team member in a diverse, cross-cultural environment.

·Strong interest in international and refugee issues or strong interest to learn.
