The Digital Fundraising Team, sitting within the Individual Giving Unit, PSFP, PFP in UNICEF is at an exciting time as it will implement the Digital Revenue Strategy across the next three years to inspire and enable markets to improve their digital fundraising results. The overall objective of the strategy is increasing donations through digital capabilities and support for other revenue channels such as telemarketing, face-to-face fundraising, Direct TV, telethons and others.

The vision: become the largest and most successful digital fundraising program in the world.

The incumbent is expected to play a fundamental role at UNICEF, by enabling UNICEF markets to take fundraising to the next level. You will enable our Digital Fundraising experts to share their knowledge and digital experience, driving growth across our global UNICEF markets.

The main purpose of the role is to create and implement a new strategy for Talent & Knowledge Management in the digital fundraising area in UNICEF. Developing the next generation of digital experts, sharing knowledge and best practices.

1. Bringing more digital fundraising skills into UNICEF and enabling sharing of digital expertise:

  • Provide tools and processes enabling markets to understanding where they can grow their experience and knowledge.
  • Recruiting and onboarding new digital fundraising experts to support markets and grow revenues.
  • Create and implement training programs and workshops to build digital capabilities.
  • Develop a special digital fundraising program for Leaders in UNICEF.

2. Create the Digital Fundraising Knowledge Management strategy. Enabling markets through knowledge materials and providing clear processes to share industry best practices:

  • Work with Knowledge Management teams to create new activities and platforms to capture best practices and create a repository of digital fundraising knowledge and best practice sharing.
  • Provide high quality digital fundraising materials for markets.
  • Provide packaged support for specific markets.
  • Generate new procedures and tools to provide self-assessment or packaged self-help support for identified markets.

3. Help UNICEF attract and retain the top digital professionals:

  • Increase internal engagement of digital professionals to boost retention.
  • Work with existing UNICEF teams facilitating a professional career development path in digital.
  • Draft new opportunities to upskill and train digital skills and capabilities.

Education :

  • An advanced university degree in Marketing, Communications, Advertising, Digital Fundraising, or another relevant field is required.
  • Alternatively, a first level university degree in a relevant field combined with 7 years of professional experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
  • Any other additional training in a related field is an asset.

Experience :

  • A minimum of five years of progressively responsible work experience in digital fundraising, communications or digital marketing, is required.
  • Experience of defining and building knowledge enabling environments for digital growth is required.
  • Knowledge of the UN and UNICEF system is an advantage.
  • Experience in international digital fundraising is an asset.
  • Experience in both agency and client side is an asset.

Language requirements :

  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Knowledge of another official UN language is considered as an asset.

Remarks:

UNICEF PFP-Geneva is currently reviewing organizational changes; therefore, the exact future location of the post is still under consideration/to be determined. Candidates may be asked commence duties remotely. Should the selected candidate be assigned and relocate to Geneva, they may later be asked to relocate and be assigned to another location during the initial contract or assignment period.

Mobility is a condition of international professional employment with UNICEF and an underlying premise of the international civil service.
