Mission

 

The Programme Development department shapes and safeguards quality care and keeps the SOS Care Promise so many more children succeed in life. The Youth & ICT4D team works with partners, young people and member associations to ensure strong youth development programmes and ICT4D in SOS Children’s Villages, joining forces for better support of young people on their path to decent work and independent lives. 

The aim of the position is to support the development and roll-out of a virtual market place for youth development and participation opportunities within the federation.  

Closely linked to the Strategic Federation Project YouthCanand with the virtual platform YouthLinks, the   incumbent will  coordinate the development of a sub-platform where young people can be linked to opportunities around the organization, can participate in capacity development activities and interact among themselves. 

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Finalize concept and define project charter. This includes a brief change management process description, project planning and defining roles and responsibilities in project team.  
  • Define platform processes, users' roles in technical platform 
  • Define functional and technical requirements together with the stakeholders   
  • Define and develop digital content empowering staff and young people for meaningful collaboration and participation 
  • Compile and curate the existing content in the organisation (and externally) by empowering staff and young people for meaningful collaboration/participation 
  • Set up and test the Minimum Viable Product with a limited number of users, collect and integrate their feedback  
  • Set up and run piloting with 3 Member Associations, collecting learnings and adapting system and content accordingly 
  • Support the implementation of the Talentpool in the different member associations by supporting the capacity building and exchange of experiences and learning and setting up strong user support processes 
  • Develop Monitoring and Evaluation report and communication materials around the project 
  • Support the assessment and analysis of Talentpool system in order to establish way forward and recommendations 
  • Research & learn about existing virtual opportunity market places platforms and summarize learnings    
  • Contribute to the development of safeguarding procedures and processes on the digital platform YouthLinks!   
  • Coordinate the development of tools and trainings to support project implementation 
  • Coordinate external and internal project communication and community building materials 

 

Requirements

Essential:  

  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience in coordinating a multi-stakeholder  project in an international context 
  • Strong project management skills, including project planning and implementation 
  • Abilities in writing, conceptualizing and editing  
  • Awareness and knowledge about youth development topics and youth employability  
  • Excellent written and verbal English  
  • Good planning and organising skills 
  • Strong problem-solving skills 
  • Strong communication skills to lead external and internal project communications and community building 
  • Strong stakeholder management skills in a multicultural environment 

 

 

Desirable: 

  • Understanding of labour markets and challenges 
  • Previous experience in working with youth topics represents an advantage 
  • Previous experience in working with a market place solution represents an advantage 
  • Additional languages (Spanish, French or German) are a plus
