Communications Division, Digital Strategy Section

Task description

Under the direct supervision of the Head of Web and Information Systems Office, the National UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks: • Migrate to docker based deployment workflows for all applications that we manage. • Optimise existing Gitlab CI/CD pipelines to provide better deployment experience to engineers. • Integrate Gitlab with Prometheus and other applications such as AWS AppMesh to provide devel-opers with better tools for observability. • Optimise IAC implementation using terraform • Help in optimizing infrastructure usage to better manage expenditure. Regular infrastructure maintenance and upgrades. • Support the AWS migration efforts • Provide support to the engineering and back end set of the publication page dashboard that dis-plays key metrics. Results/Expected Outputs: • Contribute to digital strategy web deliverables on • AWS infrastructure set up. • Dev-ops optimization and increased performance. • Efficient publications Dashboard on web pages, pulling in necessary data
