Mission and objectives

La mission du Groupe de Mobilisation de Ressources et Partenariats des Nations Unies en Mauritanie est de promouvoir la coordination des efforts en termes de mobilisation des ressources et gestion des partenariats, afin de mobiliser suffisamment de financements pour la mise en œuvre du CPDD.

Context

The Office of the UN Resident Coordinator in Islamic Republic of Mauritania (RCO) operates under the strategic direction of the UN Resident Coordinator. The RCO supports the UNCT (resident and non-resident UN agencies) in the development, implementation, monitoring and reporting of the UN Cooperation Framework and in activities related to One UN. The OV will support the Communication, and Advocacy tasks of the RCO. The OV will work closely with the Communications Officer to deliver compelling design handouts of RCO. Particularly, the OV will contribute to the development of one pager for donor mapping based on the spreadsheet RCO provided, and another one-two pagers for advocacy design material based on the template RCO provided that are key to raising awareness about UN's activities and needs in Mauritania. The OV will contribute to delivering compelling designs and promote advocacy through the creation of visibility materials widely used for RCO's website, social media accounts and events etc.

Task description

RCO is looking for one Online Volunteer (OV) to produce 2 one-page design for two purposes (One UN mapping and advocacy material for UN activities) respectively in English, French and Arabic in line with corporate editorial guidelines. The OV is asked to produce 2 documents of around 1-2 pages for one time, although the amount could vary based on mutual agreement between the OV and RCO Mauritania. The design materials will be used by RCO Mauritania to bolster UN organisations branding and will help create an environment conducive to mobilizing resources in Mauritania. The OV will directly report to Communications Officer at RCO Mauritania and will have an opportunity to be exposed to UN's communications activities and gain experience.
