Your team

Within the Network Management Directorate , the "Project Coordination and Implementation" service leads the Network Manager (NM) strategic projects, including the contributions to SESAR and the interfaces with the related SESAR deployment projects. The service also manages interactions with stakeholders on strategic projects.

Your role

Your role will be to:

  • Lead NM implementation (sub) projects relating to ATFCM or act as project coordinator, as required.
  • Contribute to the development of ATFCM operational concepts, related developments and implementation roadmaps.
  • Coordinate within NM the various ATFCM developments to ensure consistency with the strategic direction of NM and network operations in general (ref. Network Strategy Plan).
  • Participate to NM implementation projects and provide operational and/or systems expertise on ATFCM & ATC interrelated operational requirements and strategic European needs.
  • Consult with internal and external stakeholders to identify operational user requirements for NM service improvements, in particular with regards to ATFCM and related developments.
  • Share expertise and contribute to relevant ATFCM SESAR deployment projects and SESAR R&D work packages.
  • Advise on the need for specific ATFCM related NM developments in line with the strategic evolution and performance targets.
  • Provide input to update the Network Strategy Plan and Network Operations Plan based on internal and external developments.
  • Carry out any other tasks in line with the main purpose of this job.

Required qualifications, experience & competencies

  • Completed university studies of 3 years (e.g. Bachelor’s degree).
  • Internal candidates should check on the intranet to see what level of in-house experience is considered equivalent to educational qualifications where appropriate.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ relevant professional experience.
  • Experience in air traffic management.
  • Knowledge of ATM systems.
  • Knowledge of operational and technical ATM evolutions.
  • Understanding of the European ATM network and the functions of the Network Manager.
  • Understanding of ATFCM.
  • Project Management skills.
  • Analytical thinking: Analyses information and identifies relationships.

  • The working languages of the Agency are English and French. For this particular job, candidates must be proficient users of English at level C1/C2. The selected candidate will be required to become at least a basic user of French at level A1/A2 before the end of the probation period.
    The levels relate to the Common European Framework of References for languages (CEFR).

  • Duration of appointment: This is an appointment for a determined period of 5 Year (s). It could be extended up to a maximum of 9 years or converted into an undetermined contract.
  • Internal candidates
    If selected, the person will keep their current type of appointment duration (undetermined or determined).
    The internal staff member with a determined contract will be offered, in principle, an appointment for 5 Year (s) with a maximum total duration of 9 years.
  • The successful candidate shall be appointed at the grade in the function group and to the type of post indicated in the vacancy notice, or, if a group of grades has been published, in principle at the basic grade.
  • In case of reserve list: Suitable candidates, however not selected to fill the post, will be placed on a reserve list for similar functions. The period of validity of reserve list is 1 year from the closing date of applications .
