The Government of Egypt is constructing its new administrative capital where it plans to transfer all Government ministries and headquarters of public administration units. As part of this process, the Egyptian Government has requested and is facilitating the move of all UN agencies (Country Offices and Regional Offices) to a new premise (UN House) that will be designed, constructed and owned by the Government.
To that effect, UNOPS will be in charge of the technical assistance and project management support to the design and construction of a UN common premise in the new administrative capital of Egypt. The Project Manager will also be responsible for communicating the project advancement and challenges to UN agencies and work in close collaboration with the Resident Coordinator.

Education/Experience/Language requirements

Advanced University Degree in a relevant technical discipline (Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, etc.) and/or Architecture is required.

A combination of a Bachelor's degree in relevant technical discipline (Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, etc.) and/or Architecture with an additional 2 years of relevant work experience may be accepted in lieu of the education requirements outlined above.
Certification: Professional certification from an accredited institution ( PEng., CEng. , etc) is an asset

A minimum of 5 years of experience in project management is required.

Demonstrated technical, with the ability to understand, plan, and advice on technical project documents.

2 years of experience across all the life cycle of infrastructure projects including but not limited to design, procurement is required.

Minimum of 2 years experience in team supervision (preferably in multicultural environment set-up) is required.

Experience working in middle income countries and/or developing countries and with multicultural teams is an asset.

A minimum of 1 year of experience at the UN
- Full working knowledge of French and English is required.
- Knowledge of Arabic is an asset.
