The Position:

This position is located in the London Representation Office, established in January 2017, within the Division of Communications and Strategic Partnerships (DCS). The London Representation Office serves to liaise with key partners including governments, parliamentarians, NGOs, civil society, academia, media and citizens in countries covered by the office.
Under the overall supervision of the Director of the London Representation Office, the Partnerships and Parliamentary Analyst will:
- assist in developing and delivering strategies to strengthen political and financial support for UNFPA’s mandate and programmes
- contribute to deepen priority partnerships in support of UNFPA’s strategic partnerships objectives, and build, manage and engage in external relationships
- support UNFPA Country Offices in seeking resource mobilisation opportunities
- develop and deliver advocacy work aligned with UNFPA’s mandate

Job Purpose:
As part of a small team, the job holder will play a critical role on a wide range of issues including promoting UNFPA’s mandate and thematic funds; championing SRHR and the three zeros; event planning and organisation; and stakeholder and relationships management; as well as delivering strong written work, communications and research, representing UNFPA with external organisations, and other responsibilities. The job holder will also contribute to supporting the wider work of UNFPA with new and existing partnerships.
Due to the nature of the small office, duties will be wide-ranging and the job holder will be expected to be flexible and demonstrate the ability to multi-task to complete a range of different tasks including influencing government, stakeholder management, attend meetings, written work, communications and event organisation. 


Qualifications and Experience
Advanced university degree in Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies or related fields.
Knowledge and experience: 
• At least 2 years progressively relevant experience preferably in the context of an international organisation and/or political matters
• A strong interest in development work, especially the mission of UNFPA, and dedication to the principles of the United Nations, and familiarity with UNFPA’s work and mandate
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English as well as excellent organisational skills
• Proficiency in using spreadsheets/Excel, Word, PowerPoint and online tools
Desirable Skills:
• Strong problem-solving skills and evidence of using your own initiative
• Evidence of sound judgment and the ability to think clearly and plan effectively 
• Ability to work at pace to meet tight deadlines, as well as good prioritisation skills
• Sound understanding of UK parliamentary and governance structures and politics is beneficial
• A collaborative working style to build and maintain strong relations with a very active set of stakeholders, as well as to promote UNFPA and its interests
 Fluency in English is required; Working knowledge of another official UN language is desirable.
