The International Rescue Committee (IRC) responds to the world’s worst humanitarian crises and helpspeople to survive and rebuild their lives. Founded in 1933, the IRC offers lifesaving care and life-changingassistancetorefugeesforcedtofleefromwarordisaster.Atworktodayinover40countries,theIRCaimsto restore safety, dignity and hope to millions who are uprooted and struggling to endure. In response tothe arrival of refugees in Greece in 2015, the IRC has been offering SMS, WASH and Protection services.Amongothers,throughitschildprotectionprograms,theIRChasbeenofferingindividualsupportthroughcasemanagementtovulnerablechildrenandtheirfamilies,non-formaleducationalactivitiesforchildrenthroughSafeHealingandLearningSpacesandemergencyaccommodationandprotectiontounaccompaniedchildren(throughsafezones).Currently,IRCHellasisimplementingthreechildprotectionprograms; Supported Independent Living (SIL) apartments for UAC, 16 to 17 years old, Child FriendlySpaces (CFS) and child protection case management activities in Lesvos. A new child protection projectwillbelaunchedinJanuary,aimingatbuildingthecapacityofeducatorsandchildprotectionpractitionerswhoworkwith vulnerablechildren, as well asatempoweringchildren themselves.

IRCHellascurrentlyhasoffices inAthens,Lesvos,ChiosandSamos.

In Italy, the IRC has already established partnerships with the municipalities of Milan and Palermo,which are key points of access for the development of programs in two of the most important hubs forthereceptionofmigrants inthecountry.

GeneralGoaloftheProject

TerredesHommesHellas(ProjectLead),IRCHellasandMunicipalityofMilan,willimplementREECproject

  • Reinforce Educators; Empower Children, a DG Justice project in Greece and Italy. The project will forgeaprotectionresponsereinforcingexistingcapacitiesofEarlyChildhoodDevelopment(ECD)educatorsandprimaryteachersaswellaschildprotection(CP)practitioners’capacitiestodetectandprovideresponsiveservices to children experiencing or at risk of adverse childhood experiences (ACE). It will benefit allchildren, with a focus on vulnerable social groups (refugee and migrant children). The project aims toprotect children from harm (physical, sexual, emotional or neglect) by providing them with support andpositive development insafe environments.

PurposeoftheAssignmentinrelationtotheProject

IRCHellaswillcontractoneConsultant,a video-editor to edit and post-produce a series of video-trainings for educators, teachers and school managers to be posted on an internal platform of the Municipality of Milan.

Majortaskstobeaccomplishedby theConsultant:

The Consultant will closely work with three consultants who will record the trainings. The Consultant will work closely tocarryoutthe followingactivities:

1.Provide technical inputs to record a series of video-trainings (February)

2.Edit and post-produce two online courses:

  • A training course on Child Protection and Child Safeguarding with 2 modules (around 4 hours of recordings)
  • A training course on Healing Classrooms (HC), Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) and Movements, Games and Sport (MGS) (around 8 hours of recordings)

3.Provide technical support to upload and deliver afore-mentioned video-trainings on the Padlet platform
