Job Description

Travel:                                             100% within project locations

  1. Role and responsibilities

The purpose of the FoC is to endure smooth implementation of projects and operations in Akobo Field Office  and therefore, the job holder must be a resident or originated from County / Community

Generic responsibilities (max 10)

These responsibilities shall be the same for all positions with the same title. The responsibilities shall be short and essential. Details belong in the Work- and Professional Development Plan.

  1. Adhere to NRC policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines
  2. Assist with the implementation of the programe portfolio according to plan of action
  3. Prepare and develop status reports as required by management
  4. Ensure proper filing of documents
  5. Promote and share ideas for improvement of the programe function

Specific responsibilities

These responsibilities shall be adapted to the particularities of the job location and context, phase of operation, strategic focus and type of programme intervention. This section shall be revised whenever a new employee is hired or the context changes significantly.

Logistic

  1. Ensure Assets register are filled and records are up to date
  2. Ensure warehouse/store is well arranged
  3. Maintain good use of office generator and ensure its operations as per the schedule
  4. Control and manage efficient use of fuels
  5. Ensure vehicle and speedy boats are in good working conditions.

Procurement

  1. Generate  request for quotations to suppliers through public  advertisement for traders to bid
  2. Preparation of procurement memos and contracts for local procurements.
  3. Processing of procurement orders (POs) for local procurement.
  4. Preparation of suppliers payments and submit to finance to process payments.
  5. Follow up the deliveries of items from the local suppliers
  6. Filing procurement documents
  7. Inform the procurement requester prior to reception of any materials from suppliers.
  8. Ensure suppliers are treated equally, no conflict of interest in collection of quotes.
  9. Provide regular and weekly procurement updates on progress and challenges to supervisors and other team members.

Critical interfaces

By interfaces, NRC means processes and projects that are interlinked with other departments/units or persons. Relevant interfaces for this position are:

  • FSL staff in project area and in other NRC offices

•            Experience from working as a logistic & procurement in humanitarian/recovery context and in context of Jonglei.

•            Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts

•            Some knowledge of English and local languages  

Context/ Specific skills, knowledge and experience:

•            Must have Diploma or bachelor in logistic and procurement  or supply chain management

•            Knowledge of the context in South Sudan

•            Knowledge in Community Mobilization or related field.

•            Knowledge of the Local language an advantage,
