Mission and objectives

MISSION: Empowering men, women, youths and the disadvantaged with the tools necessary to help them improve the quality of their lives. We want the oppressed, the poor and less privileged live a life of meaning and worth. God has laid this burden in our hearts and with your assistance we can begin to realize our aspirations.

Context

Many young women in Cameroon do not continue with formal education. They drop off from school because of financial difficulties or as a result of early marriages. They have to rely on their husbands or others for support which often prove unreliable. Volunteers will work on a proposal whereby these young women can receive training. Volunteers can work individually or in a team. Communication will be by email, skype, whatsapp, Facebook Messenger and sometimes by phone.

Task description

Young rural women who did not continue with formal education need to get a vocational skill acquisition in order to make independent financial decisions, and have independence and leadership in their own destinies. Continual reliance on men and other sources for their upkeep have proven unreliable and have had a bad toll on their well-being. GMM is looking for volunteers who will help draft a proposal whereby it can use to lobby for funding to support these young women learn a trade or vocational skill. Volunteers will work on developing a project proposal as per the guidance by the organization.
