AIIB is looking for a Business Management Officer to support the operations of the Office of Chief Financial Officer (CFO). The Business Management Officer will be responsible for providing operational and coordination support to CFO Office on all active and proposed work programs, internal reporting, drafting and business deliverables.

 

The role will also assist CFO in partnering with relevant support functions across the Bank to deliver streamlined and efficient processes, including aligning business goals and track results, as well as strategic business development operations. This position reports directly to the CFO and supports all business agendas inside and outside the Bank.

 

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Provide daily support to CFO Office in delivering business plan objectives, supporting regular operations and its integrated business plan and budget, keeping track of required actions and respective deadlines and their proper reporting.
  • Assist CFO Office in enhancing efficiency of interactions and communication within Finance Department.
  • Act as CFO Office’s liaison point to proactively partner with various departments in the Bank.
  • Serve as CFO Office’s business management focal point for programs related to CFO Office process development, IT, records management, facilities management, event management, business continuity and other systems/processes related to CFO Office’s setup and operations.
  • Assist in preparing CFO Office business plan, budget and staffing plan. Consolidate, coordinate, and prepare respective reports and their presentations.
  • Assist the CFO in reviewing policy, strategy, directive, and other operational documents with adequate background information and research.  
  • Act as the focal point of CFO Office for the Investment Committee, the Executive Committee, the Board. Assist in the preparation of relevant reports and presentations in cooperation with other departments under CFO Office.
  • Contribute to CFO/Finance Investment Committee (IC) review
    Provide thorough analysis of new or complex business/projects
    • Refining the common business needs of IC projects, and help to consider how to support Investment Operations (IO) project/product better – recommend solutions and comprehensive utilization of various governance structures
    • Provide advise/comments on the new function/products
    • Contribute to Strategic level considerations regarding functions across synergy of Finance, such as cash management, hedging arrangement, reporting impact, etc.
  • Support the CFO in close cooperation with the Office of the Controller and Office of the Treasurer and HR to ensure that HR related policies and initiatives are properly implemented effectively and consistently in Finance Department, including recruitment, performance management, etc. Be the training focal point for Finance to work with HR to ensure proper training and development plans are implemented for all finance staff.
  • Coordinate the work of teambuilding and internal seminar events.
  • Assist in the CFO’s engagements with external counterparts, including governments, enterprises, media, NGOs, conference hosts, etc.

 

 

Requirements

 

Minimum of 5 to 10 years’ experience in international finance institutions, including direct and relevant business management experience.

  • Work experience in multilateral development banks, or financial institutions is an advantage
  • Solid understanding of investment processes and operations as well as familiarity with relevant policies and procedures.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational abilities required to build working relationships across teams; excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate in a clear and succinct style.
  • Fluency in English is a must.
  • Self-starting, self-driven and proactive individual with initiative.
  • Demonstrated experience, judgment, and leadership to execute multiple and diverse work programs.
  • Ability to adapt and be multi-tasking based on business needs to bridge resource/skills gaps and keep several business initiatives moving forward.
  • Master’s degree or equivalent preferably in business administration, economics, or public administration.
