Org. Setting and Reporting

The incumbent of this post is responsible to the Senior Staff Nurse in the Health Centre he/she assigned to.

Responsibilities

Performs nursing activities required for child care, pre-conception care, antenatal care, post-natal care, diabetic and hypertensive cases including screening and health education activities;

Carries out nursing tasks related to school health activities including vaccination, height and weight measurement, vision and hearing screening where applicable;

Conducts home-visits for growth retarded, anemic, defaulting bedridden/disabled patients;

Keeps adequate recording of received and used supplies needed for the nursing activities in her/his assigned working station;

Maintains a high standard of infection control to ensure safety of staff and clients;

Complies with all relevant safety, quality, health and environmental procedures to ensure a healthy and safe work environment;

Provides services through the electronic medical records system (E-Health), including data entry and proper recording;

Performs such other duties as may be required.

Competencies

Good communication skills and maintains effective working relationships with staffs and clients;

Good organizational skills and ability to work under pressure and cope with heavy workload;

Adequate computer skills;

Self motivated and show willingness to learn from others;

Acts in accordance the the professional ethics and values;

Education

Full secondary education;
Completion of a two-year diploma in nursing from a recognized institute;
Possession of a license to practice nursing services (where applicable).

Work Experience

At least two years experience in a similar role;

Experience in the use of computers and an understanding of their use in health applications.

Languages

Good command of written and spoken English and Arabic.

Assessment

Evaluation of qualified candidates may include an assessment exercise which may be followed by competency-based interview.

Conditions of service: Monthly basic salary USD 1,077.00
