Overview of position

Chelsea Village houses the COG team as well as multiple UN and Diplomatic missions in Mogadishu, Somalia’s protected Airport Base Camp. Our staff support the Diplomatic missions with life support as well as Catering, Maintenance and Construction services. Our team work well together and are accommodated in shared accommodation with a maximum of two staff per room.

Role objectives

1.Working and overseeing that guest laundry is handled with care and washed in the right process.

2.Ensuring laundry is maintained at a very high level of cleanliness.

3.Always positive to all guest request for late laundry and anything missing for the guest.

4. Managing local staffs and working together to provide customer services at a high level

5.Training and following close supervision to the staffs while working in the laundry.

6.Ensuring tasks in the department are well accomplished and up to standard

7.Surporting all tasks in the department where need arise.

8.Flexible of changing workstation as requested always.

9.Surpoting team members as requested to satisfy guest needs.

10.Ensuring staffs are using the right chemicals for washing and cleaning in the department.

11.Dedicating and following staff always to make sure job is done in the right way.

12.Assisting and supervising cleanliness in clients’ offices where needed.

13.Capable and able to help control cost in the department by avoiding misuse of company property.

14. Assisting the Chelsea Village Office with running of stores in the absence of store manager, as instructed by office. 

Project reporting

Report directly to Housekeeping Managers and Office Staff on daily basis. 

Prepare any written reports, reviews, stock counting, etc., as instructed by HK and Office Managers

Team management

Under the guidance of the HOD, you will be required to lead and manage the HK and Laundry national staff (30 pax approx.) to ensure all work is done in a timely and high-quality standard.
