Context

We are looking for an experienced, high-energy, hands-on colleague to be our Full-stack Developer who will be responsible for developing and maintaining technical solutions, which will provide direct benefit to our staff and the people that we serve.

The main task will be to maintain and develop the existing integration microservices for the department and implement new technologies to ensure the department meets future needs within the fundraising space. The initial focus will be to contribute to an evaluation of the current set-up to implement change requests to improve our customer-centricity, infrastructure’s resilience, security, performance, and cost-effectiveness. 

Working on some fast-moving and dynamic projects the position will directly influence NRC’s ability to improve the lives of millions of people in an ever-changing world.

What you will do

You will work in close collaboration with a newly formed team to help meet technological opportunities for the department. On a day-to-day basis, your task could include developing and deploying microservices to automate business processes, set-up a data pipeline toward the future data warehouse, helping mentor junior developer resources, and debug current solutions amongst other tasks. The position will also contribute to providing strategic direction for the tech stack and contribute to facilitating agile ceremonies.

On a general level:

  • Responsible for developing and maintaining section data warehouse and pipelines
  • Documentation of integrations and microservices owned by section
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining global integrations for sections’ tech stack
  • Responsible for minimizing global integrations owned by section downtime
  • Identify new technical opportunities for the section
  • Focal point for external developers during collaborations with the team

What you will bring

  • 3+ years documented experience with Python/GoLang, SQL and JavaScript(React)
  • Documented experience with Kubernetes
  • 3+ years documented experience with REST API integrations
  • Documented experience with GitHub and test-driven development.
  • Strong understanding of payment service providers.
  • Documented experience in data warehouse management
  • Strong written and oral communication skills in English, other languages are an advantage
  • Strong ability to motivate colleagues
  • Advanced analytical skills and problem-solving attitude
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Comfortable working remotely within a geographically distributed team;
