The Global Green Growth Institute internship program (also called "Grow Green" Program) provides a unique learning opportunity for students and recent graduates from diverse academic backgrounds. The program is designed for talented and motivated individuals skilled in areas relevant to GGGI’s operations. The program allows selected candidates to gain insight into the work of the Institute and provides assistance and training in various professional fields in a multicultural environment. CURRENT OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for a talented individual to work with us in the GGGI´s Green Investment Services (GIS) unit in Latin America and the Caribbean Regional Office. S/he will support the GIS team with the development of investment documentation (investment teasers and pitch decks) desk research, data collection and analysis, development of knowledge sharing material and events.   

The assignment will include the following tasks, among others:

    • Develop GGGI´s library of investment teasers and pitch decks for GGGI´s investment projects portfolio: 10-15 teasers and presentations
    • Update GGGI’s templates for investment teasers and pitch decks 
    • Conduct desk research of relevant climate finance related policies and strategies, assess collected information and produce concise summaries to drive GGGI investment targets in the region
    • Develop communication, marketing and knowledge material documenting GGGI experience and track record
    • Support the identification and mapping of sources of green finance, including providers of finance, donors and investors
    • Support the development of resource mobilization proposals as instructed by the Regional Investment Lead
    • Develop presentations and concept notes as requested by senior team members
    • Assist the coordination of virtual events
    • Provide any other support in technical assessment and arranging documentation, as required.

ELIGIBILITY

To be eligible for an internship, candidates must:

    • Be enrolled in a Bachelor’s (final year), Master’s or PhD program prior to internship assignment, or a recent graduate within the last 12 months.
    • Be engaged or recently engaged in academic study in a field directly related to the Institute’s work
    • Fluency in both spoken and written Spanish and English is a requirement
    • Be based in Mexico / Colombia / Paraguay / Peru / Dominican Republic / Costa Rica / Guyana

QUALIFICATIONS
    • Degree or major in Finance, Economics, Sustainable Development or related fields;
    • Understanding of climate change and sustainability concepts
    • Experience and familiarity with sustainable banking initiatives and standards is an asset;
    • Familiarity with the Paris Agreement and the notion of Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC);
    • Experience on conducting research in the fields of green finance and investment, macro-economic, environmental/climate economics, climate change mitigation/ adaptation, or related fields;
    • Knowledge and excellent command of MS-Office, social media, and digital support tools: MURAL, Slido, Mentimeter, etc.
    • Able to create and analyze financial models and financial statements

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
    • Duration: 15 Feb 2021 – 15 July 2021 – part time: Monday to Friday 9:00 – 18:00 (Mexico Time)
    • Duty Station: Home Based in one of the following countries: Mexico / Colombia / Paraguay / Peru / Dominican Republic / Costa Rica / Guyana
    • Stipend: Full-time GGGI interns receive a monthly stipend of USD$500 per month. Part-time GGGI interns receive a monthly stipend of USD$250 per month All costs related to travel, insurance, accommodation, and living expenses must be borne by either the interns or their sponsoring institutions.
    • Medical Insurance: Interns must present proof of valid medical insurance to GGGI upon returning the signed internship contract.
    • Confidentiality: Interns must keep confidential any and all unpublished information obtained during the course of the internship and may not publish any documents based on such information.  
    • Academic Credit: Interns may get academic credit from their institution of higher education for the internship. Interns need to check with their university to confirm their academic credit policy for internships.  
    • Working Hours: The intern is expected to work Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 18:00. Leave should be pre-approved by the Intern Manager, and the latter should inform the Office of HR accordingly.
    • Learning Outcomes: before completion of the internship, Intern Managers are expected to review the learning outcomes with the intern.
    • Certificate: provided upon successful completion of the internship, upon request.
