Job Overview:

The Tax Preparation Assistant will support clients’ financial capability and tax preparation needs by providing tax preparation services for community members and assist in coordinating IRC New York’s volunteer income tax assistance. The position will work with the economic wellbeing team to ensure that clients’ tax returns and other financial capability needs are met.

Primary Responsibilities:

·Complete the IRS Link and Learn Tax Screener and Preparer certification by February 1

·Provide in-person tax preparation assistance to community members at the IRC in NY office with ability to work on      Saturdays

·Assist with scheduling for client appointments

·Participate in program meetings and staff development activities

·Provide coordination and organization for the operations of the VITA program.

·Ensure all volunteers adhere to the VITA policies, IRS volunteer standards of Conduct and Quality Site Requirement

·Assist with data collection and reporting to program funders

·Other related duties as assigned
