CHAI, in partnership with its India affiliate William J Clinton Foundation (WJCF), works in close partnership with and under the guidance of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) at the Central and States' levels on an array of high priority initiatives aimed at improving health outcomes. Currently, CHAI works across projects to expand access to quality care and treatment for HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis-C (HCV), tuberculosis, cancer, and immunization.


CHAI SRH Program Overview


Family Planning and SRH services are critical to government of India’s RMNCHA program which aims to achieve population stabilisation, promote reproductive health and reduce maternal and child mortality and morbidity.


The State of Madhya Pradesh has outlined an ambitious vision for expanding access to quality and accessible Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child and Adolescent Health (RMNCHA) services. CHAI has worked closely with the government of Madhya Pradesh in scaling Comprehensive Abortion Care (CAC) service access, addressing supply chain infirmities, skilling health workers in counselling and service delivery, and identifying new approaches to improve awareness around family planning services in communities across the state.

 

Position Overview

 

The Analyst will support design and implementation of programs for improving access and uptake of sexual and reproductive health services. The Analyst will be responsible for preparing analyses on high impact interventions in the SRH domain, coordinating with donors and partners on program design, collaborating with a range of internal and external stakeholders to implement interventions in target geographies, and identifying strategies for scale up of successful interventions. The position requires travel to program implementation sites (primarily Madhya Pradesh) and for meetings with other stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Strategic Support

  • Developing an understanding of the SRH ecosystem, including donors, partners, relevant government departments and officials
  • Support the SRH team in identifying and implementing high impact solutions to improve uptake of public health services.
  • Plan hiring, budgets and workplans for field implementation teams
  • Synergize with government health departments to identify areas of support and engagement in line with program objectives
  • Analyse existing literature and data from quantitative and qualitative studies, and highlight key findings and insights to guide program strategy
  • Help develop strategies on market shaping for new contraceptive products by conducting analysis and stakeholder interviews

Program Design & Implementation

  • Lead the planning and implementation of pilots including development of field program design, development of and monitoring adherence to workplans for all program workstreams including training modules, discussion guides, research protocols and any other such documents for pilot interventions and accompanying studies
  • Coordinating with SERC and IRB for receiving ethics approvals for studies
  • Assist in identification and support in contracting implementation partners/third party data collection, research and communication agencies and manage the relationships on a day-to-day basis

Documentation, Reporting & Dissemination to Stakeholders

  • Design approaches to generate evidence on impact of pilot interventions and capture key lessons learnt
  • Develop compelling stories and presentations summarizing our work and seek opportunities to disseminate knowledge, key learnings, and products to various stakeholders.
  • Track program progress and develop periodic reports for leadership, donors and partners
  • Other responsibilities as needed
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in public health, management, economics, engineering, computer science, statistics, operations research areas.
  • Minimum 24 months of relevant work experience in public health, consulting, or pharma.
  • Experience in the space of family planning, reproductive health or safe abortion care will be an advantage.

Skill Sets:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Data Visualization Tools is necessary.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, including the ability to work independently, self-motivate, and propose and implement new initiatives.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a positive, solution-oriented approach to challenges.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, set priorities and work independently.
  • Willingness to travel as and when required for work purposes.
  • Preference would be given to candidates with strong experience in program support in public health or social work programs, with focus on program management/monitoring experience.
