CHAI South Africa’s Amandla Mama Study:

The main aim of the Amandla Mama Study, which CHAI SA is leading, is to co-create and test a narrative, video-based mHealth series of 10 “micro-messages” (short messages designed to impact behaviour change) (Amandla Mama Videos) and investigate the impact that the Amandla Mama Videos have on optimising behavioural intentions of women and their partners in the perinatal period. The study commenced in December 2021 and will conclude in February 2023. During the study, mothers and their partners will be engaged through emotive, resonant narratives and visuals to determine whether evidence-based health messages for perinatal health can motivate life-saving improvements in health behaviours during the perinatal period.

The Volunteer position will be for the period of six months only and will be based in Pretoria, South Africa reporting to the Program Manager for Amandla Mama.

CHAI strives to be an equal opportunity employer and promotes fairness, respect, equality and dignity in the workplace. CHAI welcomes applications from all qualified individuals and encourages people from historically disadvantaged groups to apply.
