Investment Analyst, Financial Collaboration and Outreach

 

The Investment Analyst (hereinafter referred to as “the Analyst”) is expected to contribute to build an extraordinary organization that continues to drive innovation in accelerating green growth worldwide under the guidance of the Senior Specialist for Financial Collaboration and Outreach (hereinafter referred to as “the Senior Specialist”) at the front office of Investment and Policy Solutions Division (IPSD). The Analyst will support assigned financial program facilities/funds and outreach collaboration. The Analyst will support the Senior Specialist to build and maintain strong relations with multilateral development banks (MDBs), bilateral development agencies (BDAs), governments of member and partner countries, government agencies, and public/private sector stakeholders from the perspective of financial collaboration and outreach. The Analyst will primarily focus on Korean stakeholders such as ministries, official development assistance (ODA) agencies, financial development institutions, and other public and private entities. Under the guidance of the Senior Specialist, the Analyst will engage with other divisions of GGGI to create resource mobilization opportunities and project administration.

PURPOSE

 

  • Manage project progress reporting (monthly and quarterly) for IPSD financial outreach portfolios and follow up on action points where required
  • Produce high quality summaries and presentations analysing results with a clear focus on key stakeholders, decision makers such as members of GGGI Council and the Management and Program Sub‐Committee
  • Serve as focal point for incoming new project ideas by managing the process and providing quality assurance
  • Review and improve project idea development process and guidelines in continuous manner
  • Monitor the implementation of activities and compile reports for analysis against budgets and workplans both internally and externally
  • Lead the data gathering and compilation of knowledge sharing information from each delivery country/unit to feed into financial collaboration and outreach projects
  • Reporting to the Senior Specialist of the project progress against budget and workplan milestones. Discuss and collaborate to address hurdles
  • Coordinate with internal units of GGGI as OED focal point to ensure compliant reporting, to overcome issues on delivery and to identify best practice as necessary
  • Seek opportunities to support presentation of lessons learned from the project with internal or external partners
  • Monitor the delivery progress of the project via ERP and GGGI Online, managing and storing documentation within SharePoint
  • Compile report summaries and presentations for external donor reporting as well as internal learnings

 

ENGAGEMENT

 

  • Support the Senior Specialist to build collaborative networks with representatives from multilateral development banks (MDBs), bilateral development agencies (BDAs) including KEXIM, ICAK, KOTRA and KEA, and other public/private stakeholders as well as government officials of member and partner countries. 
  • Engage and liaise with IPSD units and GGGI country teams as well as COPs, GIS, CPU and CAID,  by compiling and researching relevant and timely background information and advice,summarizing data and assessing trend.
  • Engage with Government ministries, ODA agencies, financial development institutions, and other potential public and private sector donors in Korea to explore opportunities for earmarked funding and enhanced financial collaboration.

DELIVERY 

 

  • Provide a technical advice on financial collaboration and outreach to support member and partner countries to position GGGI as a trustworthy development partner and comply with donor standards and priorities.
  • Deliver comparable and quality research databases and outputs to contribute substantial works for GGGI’s outreach to and engagement of MDBs, BDAs, Korean ministries, development agencies, and public/private sector stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain a guideline, to create access to earmarked funding opportunities from possible donors and possible collaboration as a partner, through analysis of each donor priorities.
  • Implement financial program facilities/funds and outreach collaboration and monitor progress of delivery.
  • Develop and implement an overall guideline and communication material for GGGI projects teams to gain access to available funding opportunities, and report progress of projects funded by above entities.
  • Advise the Senior Specialist with evidence and data driven substantive inputs and analyses on project development, implementation, and assessment.
  • Be proactive for creating new initiatives and approaches to raise financial resources.
  • Be proactive in development of knowledge products and dissemination.

 

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in development cooperation, economics, public administration, or other relevant disciplines is required, while a Master’s degree would be considered as an advantage and is highly preferred.
  • Fluency in Korean and English, written and oral.
  • At least 6 years of professional experience in international development, government relations, donor relations and/or program management.

 

FUNCTIONAL

 

  • Understanding of global perspectives on green growth and economic development
  • Familiarity with intergovernmental processes and financial collaboration
  • Experience in managing stakeholder outreach and engagement processes
  • Experience working with government agencies and multilateral organizations.
  • Experience in collaborating with GGGI colleagues in managing portfolio from governments for allocation of project
