ABA ROLI JusTRAC+ Program Knowledge Portal Coordinator

The American Bar Association Rule of Law Initiative (ABA ROLI) seeks a Program Officer to join the Justice Sector Training, Research, and Coordination Plus (JusTRAC+) Program team as the Knowledge Portal Coordinator.

The JusTRAC+ Program improves U.S. Government (USG) interagency coordination and collaboration in justice sector assistance through knowledge sharing, training, and research activities. JusTRAC+ fosters opportunities for information sharing and dialogue within the USG and beyond and supports learning by improving access to evidence-based practices. The JusTRAC+ Knowledge Portal is the locus of program activity and serves as the hub for the two Communities of Practice (CoP) – one focused on Justice Sector Measurement and the other focused on the Nexus of Transnational Organized Crime and Corruption. The Portal is the platform for dialogue and information sharing via discussion boards and where members access practice notes, toolkits, and curated resources on a variety of rule of law topics.

In addition to providing high-quality contributions including to decision making for the effective implementation of the JusTRAC+ Program and associated activities, the Program Officer, who will be part of the Global Programs Division, is expected to support other ABA ROLI global programs as needed as well as to contribute to the development of new programs and initiatives.

Principle Duties / Job Responsibilities
Principal Duties and Job Responsibilities of the incumbent are as follows:

  • Track Knowledge Portal-related aspects of program implementation and oversee progress against the budget and workplan, including liaising with Knowledge Portal developers, server administration and ABA’s IT Department to address technical issues and complete updates.

  • Manage and update content on the Knowledge Portal, including processing the Resource Recommendation and User Feedback forms, adding post-event reports, recordings and calendar postings to the Portal.

  • Membership management including, processing user sign-ups and sending regular “Knowledge Portal Dispatches” to members, highlighting what’s new on the Portal.

  • Support Senior Anti-Corruption Technical Advisor and CoP consultants to generate new postings to the discussion boards and to develop learning agenda compendium materials and information.

  • Help prepare reports and other materials provided to donors, including drafting and editing quarterly reports, participates in donor meetings.

  • Participate in proposal development and supports drafting budgets and other requirements.

  • Assist with the recruitment of and support to event speakers, consultants, experts, and pro bono partners.

  • Oversee adherence to personnel and program compliance with ABA and other donor policies, practices, procedures, and regulations including the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act [FCPA].

  • Monitor program budgets, manage subaward finances, track expenses, and update funding charts.

  • Conduct desk research related to ABA ROLI initiatives, internal and external reports, and proposals.

  • Support programs’ adherence to data and personally identifiable information privacy regulations.

  • Draft indicators and logic models for program monitoring, evaluation, and learning plans and undertakes data quality reviews and data entry in DevResults.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications & Interests

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.

  • At least two (2) years of work experience in a program management capacity.

Preferred Qualifications & Interests

  • Interest in and commitment to rule of law, democracy and governance, human rights, gender equality and social inclusion.

  • Experience with web development, HTML and CSS.

  • Experience with resource curation and approaches to knowledge management.

  • Willingness to be trained, learn and apply new knowledge and skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with a diverse group of stakeholders.

  • Strong research, writing, analytical, knowledge management, and communication skills.

  • Effective time management and a strong ability to multi-task, adapt and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills and familiarity with social media.

  • Ability and willingness to be an effective team player.

  • Fluency in written and spoken English.
